Summary

He needs to get closer, but Emi keeps everyone at arm's length like her life depends on it. In fact, the past seven years working at ANBU have made her a perfect shadow.
Will he ever find out where her loyalties lie? Or, at the very least, how the hell has she managed to become one of Konoha's most lethal agents without ever being noticed? The more he pushes her, the more she pulls away, and yet he quickly finds himself hypnotized by her mystery, or, perhaps, by Emi herself...

Summary
Konohagakure was founded by a member of the Senju and a member of the Uchiha – rival clans who decided to bury the hatchet to create a village where different clans can live together in peace and end the senseless fighting amongst one another. Tensions have been rising over the years between the village and the Uchiha clan since the attack from the Nine-Tailed Fox. That’s where the idea of a politically arranged marriage between a Senju and an Uchiha was formed. This marriage would serve as a symbol and a reminder to the village of the partnership between the two powerful clans and the children produced within the marriage would bond them by blood forever.
Itachi Uchiha, the eldest son of the Uchiha clan head, and Kimiko Fukuro, a second cousin of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, find themselves bound to each other for the sake of peace within the village. While they both have a strong sense of duty, they increasingly find themselves at odds when it comes to clan politics. Will their union truly bring peace to their clans and to the village? Or will it drive them further apart?
