Both of them know that it would be a terrible idea to get romantically involved with a roommate, but thankfully their best friend Shoko is here to help enable their irresponsible decisions.

    Satoru sank back down on his end of the couch, staring out the window at the Tokyo skyline. Thousands of lit windows filled with tens of thousands of people finishing up their evenings and getting ready for bed. He wondered how many of them were happy and in love; how many were resigned to relationships without love; how many were alone. "Seriously, though. I'm done."

    "With dating? You won't last a month."

    "I'm tired, Shoko. It's not good for me. And we're in our mid-thirties now. Anyone quality is already in a relationship." Satoru cracked his soda open, slumping down on the couch and tipping the bottle toward his mouth. Fruity sugar coated his tongue, but it failed to cheer him. "No one's left but undateable disasters."

The shifting of robes and the humming of the kyber crystals in Master Utahime’s lightsabers. It was annoying that the other kids were jostling, muttering and giggling. The sun was warm on the floor, deep in the core of the temple he could feel his papa and he reached, slipped into meditation he brushed against his papa’s brightness in the Force.

    Satoru’s shields slammed down with a severity that burned Megumi.

    “Yeah.”

    “From space?”

    “Yeah.”

    “Is it green?”

    “What? No.” Megumi pinches Yuji’s arm. “I’m being serious!"

    Or, even from outer space Satoru will adopt those kids. The alien AU only I needed.

    Pushing off from the door frame, he reflexively straightens his spine and manages to plaster on a wide grin. It feels like his entire body is pulsing in pain. The smile wobbles.

    Nanami raises an unimpressed eyebrow.

    He's powerful enough to earn the respect of all of their seniors and good-looking in a way that makes people stop on the street and stare as they pass by.

    Suguru wants to believe he's just lucky — born lucky and beautiful and rich — but he comes to find that Satoru Gojo is also fucking brilliant in a way that even Suguru, resentful of God’s favorite, is drawn to with awe.

    Suguru snorts. “I’d be a lot less freaked out if you just came out and said it.”

    “Would you, though?”

    He bites back a sigh, his eyes momentarily flicking up to the ceiling. “Manami.”

    “Suguru,” she spits back.

    “What, is the guy fucking yakuza or something?”

    Silence. Dead fucking silence.

    Suguru’s gaze jerks back down to Manami, who is very pointedly twirling a strand of her pink hair around a finger as she studies the nail polish on her other hand. It’s both painfully disinterested and absolutely forced, and Suguru chokes out a sound that is somewhere between a gasp and a groan.

    “Manami,” he asks. “Did you book me to tattoo a fucking gangster?”

    Or, Suguru Geto gets hired to do a very specific tattoo, is inducted into the Japanese mafia, and gets himself a very strange murder boyfriend, in that order.
