Summary
Seconds before an electromagnetic pulse wipes out the Reapers and takes all Quantum Entanglement Communications with it, Miranda receives a message from the Shadow Broker.
When the dust settles, Shepard is left to pick up the pieces of herself and decide, once and for all, who she wants to be without the Alliance or the Council’s influence. She should want peace and quiet, a white picket fence to park herself in with Liara. The universe certainly seems to expect it of her.
Unfortunately for the universe, Shepard can’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Habits like that are hard to break.

Summary
This idea sprouted after stumbling across a Liara dialogue in LoTSB. Basically, she says, "…I don't think people like us go on dates…" Afterwards, I wondered, "Where did she come up with that idea?" The following tidbit is the fruition of said thought.
This story takes place between ME1 and ME2, with Lakota Shepard, and her lover, Liara T'Soni. Lakota is an Earthborn, sole-surviving, paragade who loves her sniper rifle, Styx, but don't be fooled, she's also very fond of Liara.

“Yeah, you’re kinda giving a death glare to that Asari,” Joker notes, both he and Garrus’ comments bringing her back to reality.
“I’m not….giving anyone a death glare,” she argues, and even to herself, it sounds forced. Garrus definitely doesn’t buy it, judging by the chuckle that escapes him, it making Liara’s so called ‘death glare’ turn to him rather than at the Asari currently talking to Shepard.
Who’s talking to Shepard and has her hand on Shepard’s arm.

The MAKO.
State of the art all-terrain vehicle and last step of the Normady-wide tour Shepard's just taken Liara on, with the promise of showing her everything that makes the ship as beautiful as it is. But simply looking at the MAKO doesn't do it justice, thus Liara is invited on a quick mission that involves a bit of a trip.
It just gets worse from there.

“So you head butted her huh?” Aethytas laughed question echoed through the bar at the confession her mess of a daughter had made. Liara gasped abashed at her father’s brazenness. Shushing her father pointlessly as the laughter continued. She glanced around to find a few heads turned their way as if to say ‘quiet down will ya?’
“Father, please!” She begged, slapping a hand over the matriarch’s mouth, earning a wet lick to her palm. She pulled back disgruntled and wiped her hand off with a tissue.
