Will had met Boris Pavlikovsky, a troubled teen with lots of problems and issues who had taken a liking to the wonder twins, especially Will. When Theo had left for New York a few days after Boris and his father moved to Lenora California for a job deal, Boris started attending Lenora high when he met him in his first period.
Or during Will’s stay in Lenora he and Boris have a fling that doesn’t last long when Eleven gets taken away again and their house gets blown up with bullets and their mom is away. Boris goes to visit Will when he notices he hasn’t picked up his calls when he gets there he sees a shot up house but no Will , What if the two reunite back in Hawkins and Boris gets dragged into the upside down situation? And starts realizing the Byers aren’t a normal family and they aren’t who Boris believed they were.
Boris sees another him and starts questioning Will if he was just a backup for him.

“Does it matter?! Besides, we're not that similar.”
“Are you kidding me? If you had better hair, you’d be identical!” The redhead grins.
“Whatever. My hair’s fine. Miles, these are my friends, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Will.” he points to everyone as he gives their names.
“Will liked his hair…” Max mutters off-handedly and Mike glares at her.
Miles’ eyes are still locked with Will as he considers his name.

Miles Fairchild hates that he's forced to spend his summer in boring old Hawkins with his obnoxious cousin Mike Wheeler. Except when he meets a certain friend of Mike's he might just change his mind. Maybe the summer won't be a waste after all, if he could get the pretty boy to like him and spend all his time with him. Plus as a perk it might drive Mike insane, so win-win, honestly.

“He really does look like Mike,” Lucas breathes, as he gives Mike’s twin a scan, head to toe.
“Yeah, if Mike were way hotter and a knight?” Max chips in, and Will can vaguely hear Mike muttering again. “He looks so medieval, like he’s from Camelot or some shit.”
“I am Michael,” the knight begins to plead again. He turns his doe eyes back to Will, returning to his side like a diligent guard, even going as far as to reach out and take his hands. “Please, you have to believe me. I would never lie to you. Have I ever broken our oath? Let me prove it.”
Will was a bit preoccupied with gazing into the knight’s eyes, his cheeks flushing under the intense stare and the way his hands were held so gently. Mike had no issues ruining their moment.
“And he’s weirdly obsessed with Will.” Mike sounds even angrier than he did in the woods, and his sharp tone is enough for Will to snap out of his hand-holding to step a respectable distance away from the knight. “We need to send him back to wherever he came from.”

Mike the Brave ends up in Hawkins and sweeps Will off his feet. Mike has a lot of Feelings™ about it.

Summary
Will has never been the most dexterous of kids. He was a fast runner to be sure, but since puberty struck him with a few more inches of height, he often found himself tripping over his gangly, deer-like legs. And this was no exception. As soon as that opening cleared for him, Will fumbled forward towards the concrete floor. He tensed up, shutting his eyes tight as he braced himself for impact. But it never came.
“Woah, are you okay?” came a voice from above him, unfamiliar to his ears.
Will was suddenly conscious of a strong arm wrapped around his waist as warm brown eyes stared down at him. He gulped. “Y-yeah, I’m good, thanks…” Will said nervously.
Said strong arms then lifted Will back to his feet like he weighed nothing, but their owner’s gaze and grip lingered, burning hot on Will’s skin. “Try and watch your step next time, pretty boy.”
Five times someone tried messing with Will Byers, and the one time Mike Wheeler found out about it.
(Or: The whole Party is protective of Will, and Mike doesn’t realize his best friend is being courted).

He swallows his frustrations, hiding the fear that never really left. His walls crumbling, and as he desperately tries to keep them standing, the Mind Flayer returns.
But despite everything, a boy—confident, athletic, and surprisingly nerdy—suddenly comes into his life. Chance Lawson inadvertently becomes Will’s friend, joining the Party (?), changing the course of his fate. He carries an easy confidence, but beneath it lies a cautious, sympathetic heart that understands Will’s silence. He steps in with a gentle warmth that feels completely new, proving to Will that he doesn't have to carry the weight of the world on his own.
Then, maybe Will’s summer wouldn’t be as awful as it could’ve been.

Will Byers has a big heart, his mom always said. He loves and he loves and he loves. He gives it away because it’s too much to be contained inside one small human organ, too full to bursting. It’s always been this way, his whole life, giving away love; to crying girls in sandboxes, to loud boys on swing sets, to uncaring fathers who yell and break things and force him to change, only to leave anyway. By the time he realizes the love isn’t infinite, it’s too late to fight his nature, and his heart bleeds out, year by year, until he’s drained and tired and empty.
He cries into his hand and wonders what will happen to him when he’s truly empty. Wonders if that day is rapidly approaching. Wonders if it’s already here.

Will knocks on the door three times, gentle at first. No answer. Will tries again, this time a little harder. Chance could possibly be upstairs, so he might have to practically knock the damn door down. Will sighed, and Chance continued to not answer, until he pressed on the door and it opened. That was odd. Chance always left the door locked from Will’s own experiences.
But maybe since he was expecting Will, he just left the door open so he could get in. Will walks in hesitantly, sensing that there was something wrong. The house was too quiet. Will continues to make his slow descent down the hallway before hearing a loud crash and a…groaning sound?
Will's eyes widen and he picks up his pace, making his way to the main room where the sound came from.
Whatever Will was expecting to see, it wasn’t what he saw. Far from it.

Will blinks for a moment, head shaking as he leans it back, trying to think of how Mike could be so… so out of the loop. “Mike, Vecna is going to kill us, I don’t care about Tammy-”
“But you like him, right?”
“What?! Tammy Thompson?”
Mike lags, freezing. “Thompson?”
Or, Will is preparing to give up one last thing for the people he loved. The last thing he hasn't given them yet. His life. Mike, however, is a lot more concerned with whoever this Tammy person is and why Will cared about them enough to include them in his confession.

I wrote this at like 3:00am based on a dream I had. So.
.Mike was touchy, it was just in his nature.
Maybe that's why, when Mike reached out, hands cupping his own, leaning in close, a murmur of “I miss you, Will. I miss us,” all Will did was squeeze back, the way he always had.
It started off the same as always, something unintentional that Will could brush off, accident touches that slowly grew into something friendly, platonic, normal. The occasional nudge of an elbow to his side, a long look and a hand reaching out to grip his shoulder. Simple. Friendly.
But now?
Now Mike couldn't seem to be able to keep his hands off of him.
It was driving Will crazy.
