There’s another mage in the ‘forest’ part of town, Gem thinks, as she peers up at the very… colourful… shop. There’s certainly an air of whimsy about it.
She pushes the door open, greeted with the sight of a slightly manic-looking man dressed head to toe in some sort of rainbow showman garb. Eh, not like she can judge, with her gothic choice of clothing— she gets the commitment to the theme.
“Hi, how can I help you? Are you looking for any magic-related fixes?” he asks brightly, and Gem shakes her head lightly.
“Actually, I’m the other mage in town. I came to say hi! I’m Gem, and I’ve only been around for a while myself,” she says, and sticks her hand out for the other to shake.
or, gem and joel are mages in the same town. it somehow winds up to them fighting a dragon for fun.

“I just got a very good idea,” they say, their green-gold eyes bright and scheming in a way that makes Wato wonder whether he has to hide a body. He’s not done it before, of course, but he’d probably be good at it. First time for everything and all.
“F5?” Wato prompts, and Ken shakes her head, too excited to even smack them playfully for the joke.
“No, Wato, go out with me,” Ken insists, and grins at the sight of Wato sputtering.

Gripping the steering wheel, they stare at the black screen, not-so-patiently waiting for it to turn on. He’s not go-karted before, so he’s fully, very much expecting to crash. Multiple times. His ears flick once when the screen finally blinks on, a cheery _Kenadian_ in bold white font greeting them. They wait for the countdown.
He steps on the acceleration pedal, and the car shifts forward tentatively— then they press the pedal harder and it shoots off.

Summary
“Deck the halls?” Ken laughs, earning an “Exactly” from Wato. Why the heck not. There are crazier things happening in this Christmas party (there’s already a gambling ring of some sort), and Ken still has to get payback for Parrot making their character a pushover. And also killing Wifies twice. They shrug, and Wato takes that as her cue for chaos, for whatever inane reason.
“PARROT!” Wato yells, completely too loud and much too out of character, “YOU HAVE MET KEN UNDER THE MISTLEFOE! PREPARE FOR A FIGHT TO THE DEATH!”
Heads turn to them, and Parrot has stopped completely in his tracks, staring at the duo incredulously. Ken sputters out muffled laughter, and Wato looks like she is simultaneously proud of her (questionable) actions and wants to dig a grave for herself.

“How do I know?” The kid spits, knife raised again, trembling violently. His eyes are wet, angry and pleading and piercing right down into Grian’s soul.
“...If I can fly?” Grian asks, confused. His heart is beating fast.
The boy shakes his head violently, taking a lurching step forward, now only a few feet away. Something about his eyes almost seems familiar, but the thought is fleeting. The knife looks sharp. The child is crying, slow tears that barely have an effect on his voice.
“No,” the kid says forcefully. “How do I know you’re not a zombie?”
OR,
A young Scar fresh from a world overtaken by zombies stumbles through The Rift onto Hermitcraft, and is quickly adopted by the rest of the Hermits, who have no idea who he actually is.
