Summary
If Castiel had been forced to explain to a human what it felt like for an angel to suddenly become human, he might have likened it to having most of your limbs and senses violently ripped away or dulled, and then being thrown into the middle of a large city during the busiest hour of the day. After meeting the Winchesters he devoted a little more exploration to the idea, but no amount of apocalypses or time spent watching humanity could adequately prepare him for actually being one hundred percent human. When Metatron stole his grace and sent him to Earth, he quickly realized how wrong he was in his perception of humanity. The Winchesters take him in, but the person he could always count on most to help him isn’t exactly helping, leaving him with few options. But their family, broken as it is, always manages to pull through, somehow or another. A story in which Dean finally realizes what he means to Cas, and what Cas means to him.

Summary
“I ain’t chasing after you again!” Daryl called from the porch, barely visible now in the fading light.
“Almost doesn’t seem worth it then,” Jesus called back, cheerfully, and performed a little twirl in the mud.
“You catch cold and you can get yourself back to Hilltop!” Daryl yelled after him, and Jesus responded by raising his middle finger in the air, illuminated with the beam of his flashlight, not bothering to slow down or look back.

Summary
A series of vignettes glimpsing Daryl Dixon's and Paul "Jesus" Rovia's developing friendship through the lens of a 20 questions game.
UPDATE: At this stage, I don't plan to continue this story. I feel that my grasp on the characters has matured a bit, and I've lost the momentum for carrying out this plot line. I am, however, writing a smaller-scale re-imagining of seasons 6-7. Please see the notes for this work for links!
Thank you for all of the lovely comments! I'll make sure Daryl and Paul play 20 questions in the new one. :)

Summary
He's staring again, he realizes. He keeps catching himself, old habits screaming at him to look away, stop being obvious. But he doesn't have to stop, not anymore, not ever—so he looks. And when Cas meets his eye, instead of deflecting or snarking out a joke or excuse, he just smiles. It's already getting easier.
Cas smiles back and tilts his head. "What is it?"
"Nothing, just... can't believe we get to have this, you know? It's—I never thought I’d have… with anyone, definitely not with you. I just—I keep looking up expecting you to be gone. I’m gonna open my eyes and none of it was real. Gonna be like that for a while, probably.”

Summary
Castiel slips from his chair to kneel at Dean’s feet. He takes Dean’s hands in his, and there on the floor holding something with devotion, he understands Communion. He understands Eucharist. He understands believing in someone so deeply that to shelter a piece of them within yourself is an act of untempered faith, love and prayer and deep-wide trust.
*
Cas comes back. Dean can’t stop touching him.
