Before Hinata told his teammates that he was going to Brazil to pursue beach volleyball, he had practiced it in his head a hundred of times, how to announce it, when to drop the bomb, whether to smile or pretend to be cool about it.
He figured maybe someone would laugh or tell him he was out of his mind. But instead, everyone had cheered. Even Tsukishima, the ever salty-shima clapped him on the back and muttered something like, "Well, you'll be fine. It's you we are talking about. Just don't die, moron".
Yamaguchi had nodded with a proud captain-like grin while Yachi-san had teared up—real tears with the most beautiful and encouraging smile Hinata had ever seen.
And Kageyama...Kageyama had said nothing.

"I asked you if you knew that I’ve always loved you."
Hinata Shoyo has been in love with Kageyama Tobio since high school. He always knew, and although he sometimes believed it could be reciprocal, he had never done anything about it. He knew that he really didn’t have a chance, so why risk it? Maybe that’s made him a coward all these years, but his heart had been safe. He had already assumed and he was totally fine about it.
But then, an abrupt confession by his drunk ex-setter in a bar makes him think he’s not totally fine as he thinks and, maybe, he hasn’t been the only coward there for all those years.
