Summary
Maybe Robin wasn't entirely wrong to worry about Steve getting sick from the bat bites. It may not have been rabies, but whether it was a coincidence or not, Steve definitely contracted a virus that attacked his heart. No longer able to manage it on his own or with the found family alone, he has to seek outside help.
Eddie has no prospects, and in a last desperate move before leaving Hawkins - and his uncle - behind forever, he answers an ad in the paper. Eddie never saw himself as a nursemaid, but somehow he became Steve's.
Loosely follows Season 4 canon, with the exception of Eddie lives and Max is fully recovered

As Steve navigates through a serious, life-altering situation, he is shown love and support like he's never know before. Dustin, and the rest of their chosen family, rally around him when he needs it most. Despite the circumstances, Steve feels pretty lucky.
