His words are accompanied by a casual shrug, and said in the tone of someone who has clearly already given this subject some thought. Will doesn’t know what to do with that information. Jump from a building, maybe. “I mean, we’d all get flustered if Spider-Man carried us in his arms.”
Mike points to him enthusiastically. “Thank you, Lucas.”
Dustin looks between the two of them, his eyes narrowed.
“...Would we?”
“Sure,” Mike concludes. “He’s attractive. That’s not a weird thing to think.”
Will just barely resists the urge to bang his head against the table. He feels Dustin’s eyes glued to his burning face, and sinks even further down his chair.
In which Mike tells Spider-Man that he has a crush on his best friend, and Will jumps to some very wrong conclusions.

Too embarrassed to admit he's never been in a relationship, he blurts out the first name he can think of for an ex that no one will know; Matthew Williams. But of course Antonio knows exactly who he's talking about and "just wants to talk to him." Oh. And Matthew's brother thinks they're a new couple. Why? Because why would Lovino keep his big mouth shut and admit a lie instead of just lying again? Too easy.

Summary
Maybe it’s the lingering adrenaline from the false alarm a moment ago, but Mike suddenly has a bad feeling deep in his gut. Something is off. Slowly, he walks around to look at Chrissy’s face.
White eyes. Rapid blinking. Unfocused. Unseeing.
Mike’s terror multiplies tenfold, heart rate ratcheting back up. He blinks and it’s Will standing in front of him, glaze-eyed and shaking, seizing, eyes twitching in their sockets, stuck in a waking nightmare as the Mind Flayer forces itself into every orifice.
He blinks again and it’s Chrissy, going through the same thing. Or something very similar.

"I'm fine," Mike insists, but his voice is shaking so badly the words barely hold together. "I'm—I just need a second, I'm fine."
He's very clearly not fine. His hands are trembling, his shoulders hunched like he's trying to make himself smaller. He looks like he's about to shatter. Will stands there, uselessly full of love he’s not allowed to name. Outside, lightning briefly makes the kitchen as bright as a photograph, and in that flash Will sees how exhausted Mike looks. A tear drops onto the table. Mike wipes it away. Another takes its place. His hands start shaking harder. Numbly, he wonders how did he not notice how much has Mike been trying to hold everything together and how Mike clearly hasn’t been okay for a long time, but, well, the whole avoiding Mike to not make him uncomfortable thing clearly didn’t help.It's two in the morning and Mike is having a panic attack in the kitchen.

Oh, Jesus. Mike’s throat is very, very dry. “What?”
Will opens his eyes – slow, a little hesitant – and smiles. “You are,” he says, way, way too smug for Mike’s liking. “You’re turning red!”
“Shut up,” Mike mutters, and Will’s smile grows. “You– I’m just nervous!”
It should be illegal for someone to look this pleased with themselves. “Yeah?” Will says quietly, index finger still hovering at the corner of Mike’s mouth, thumb pressed gently under his chin. “I make you nervous?”
Mike thinks Will might be psychic. (Kind of.) Will is being very irritatingly vague about the whole thing.

“No, no, Mike…You couldn’t have done anything. I needed to do this. I don’t want Vecna to use me like that again. Never again,” he emphasizes and sighs before continuing, “I don’t want to hurt anybody anymore. I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You’ve never hurt me,” he chuckles as shame colors his cheeks red, “I, on the other hand. How could I have been so stupid. So blind.”
“You’re not—”
Mike looks at him and contemplates his next move. Something hardens in his expression as he reaches over and unzips his bag. He rummages and pulls out a rolled-up piece of paper. Will recognizes it. He brought it all the way to Hawkins from Lenora. How could he not?
“Mike—”
"Will Please."
Mike cuts him off—courage waning as his eyes tear up slightly.

Summary
This is something that, probably, someone with more objectivity on the situation than Mike would categorize as not normal. Personally, though, Mike isn’t all that pressed. Not when it’s so undeniably pleasant. He’s fine being abnormal about Will if it means not ruining this for himself.
After a few minutes, Will props himself up on one elbow, looking at Mike with sudden urgency. “Mike,” he says, blinking slowly at him, and Mike pauses the show again, arching an eyebrow at him.
“Yes?”
Will grins, all crooked and boyish and brilliant in the soft glow of the living room lamplight. “Let’s make out.”the one where they're exes who still kiss sometimes, but not, like, in a weird way.
