Lovino made a mistake. He could admit when he messed up, and by the Gods, he messed up big time. Too embarrassed to admit he's never been in a relationship, he blurts out the first name he can think of for an ex that no one will know; Matthew Williams. But of course Antonio knows exactly who he's talking about and "just wants to talk to him." Oh. And Matthew's brother thinks they're a new couple. Why? Because why would Lovino keep his big mouth shut and admit a lie instead of just lying again? Too easy.

Summary
Maybe it’s the lingering adrenaline from the false alarm a moment ago, but Mike suddenly has a bad feeling deep in his gut. Something is off. Slowly, he walks around to look at Chrissy’s face.
White eyes. Rapid blinking. Unfocused. Unseeing.
Mike’s terror multiplies tenfold, heart rate ratcheting back up. He blinks and it’s Will standing in front of him, glaze-eyed and shaking, seizing, eyes twitching in their sockets, stuck in a waking nightmare as the Mind Flayer forces itself into every orifice.
He blinks again and it’s Chrissy, going through the same thing. Or something very similar.

"I'm fine," Mike insists, but his voice is shaking so badly the words barely hold together. "I'm—I just need a second, I'm fine."
He's very clearly not fine. His hands are trembling, his shoulders hunched like he's trying to make himself smaller. He looks like he's about to shatter. Will stands there, uselessly full of love he’s not allowed to name. Outside, lightning briefly makes the kitchen as bright as a photograph, and in that flash Will sees how exhausted Mike looks. A tear drops onto the table. Mike wipes it away. Another takes its place. His hands start shaking harder. Numbly, he wonders how did he not notice how much has Mike been trying to hold everything together and how Mike clearly hasn’t been okay for a long time, but, well, the whole avoiding Mike to not make him uncomfortable thing clearly didn’t help.It's two in the morning and Mike is having a panic attack in the kitchen.
