Hughie was tasked to sneak into Homelander's room to search for evidence to bring down the supe, Frenchie gave him a modified version of compound V that he swear would temporarily give Hughie the power to teleport out of the room immediately, not much difference just modified the distance he would be able to teleport.
When he didn't find anything and was about to escape, he heard footsteps getting closer and he dosed himself with the modified compound V immediately.
Homelander after returning to his room and seeing a crying child: Why is there a crying child in my room?
Hughie who reverted back into his childhood and is crying: Daaad... where are you?
