Mira learned how to be invisible before she learned how to write her own name.
She learned it in the way her mother’s eyes glazed over whenever she entered the room, only to sharpen with venom if she lingered too long. She learned it in the way her father’s suitcase was never fully unpacked, always halfway to gone. She learned it in the way her brother, the golden boy, never said her name unless it was to tattle, to scold, or to spit it like a curse.
She learned it in the silence between dinner clinks and the muffled arguments behind closed doors, in the cold rice that waited for her after everyone else had eaten. In the echoing thud of her mother’s voice slurred over soju:

The two instantly click. They get closer every year as the two mentor and attend Capitol parties or something. They form a strong friendship but keep the growing feelings lowkey just in fear of something bad happening.
At the quarter quell the reader ends up volunteering for Annie. In the capitol, reader opens up to Johanna about her fears about the get Katniss out plan and worries about losing her and Finnick. (I’m a slut for vulnerable emotional moments lol) Maybe something happens during the games that exposes the two a little bit but you don’t have to write about the games if you don’t want to.

“Natasha,” she says. Out of the corner of your eye, you see her—her hair a muted copper, an umbrella clutched in one hand and the other tucked into the pocket of her leather jacket. She stands on the edge like it’s a park bench rather than a drop that would leave you with more broken bones than years you’ve lived.
You wait for her to ask for your name—it doesn’t come. Neither does a, “What’s wrong?” or “Come down from there.”
“Cold tonight,” she continues, as if you had spoken. “My knees haven’t ached this bad since ’09. You’ve been up here a while.”
The words sting; you wonder how she knows. The truth is blunt, painful, aching like the bruises on your ribs. You can only imagine how you must look, soaked to the bone, looking all the part of a drowned rat. Filthy, your mother had muttered last week. I don’t know what to do with you anymore.
Finally, somehow, you find your voice. “You should go.”
Natasha tilts her head. “Probably,” she agrees, before tipping the umbrella towards you.
On the eve of your death, someone joins you as you stand on the ledge.

Jen smiles whilst saying this, not in an unkind way at all, but Agatha swallows the lump of apprehension in her throat. Logically, she knows that Jen does not mean to say this to embarrass her, but there’s a hot flash of humiliation in the pit of her stomach. Obviously, she’s being irrational; nobody knows about.. those ones. Not even Rio.
She forces the heat creeping up her neck down and says,
“I don’t have any.”
