Sophie Reid thought she had her life planned out. But the war left no family unscathed. Joining the program was a means to escape the events that had torn her family apart. Training was one thing though throwing yourself out of a plane into a war zone was another. In many ways that turned out to be the easy bit.

“Sounds like my kind of girl,” Bucky agrees under his breath, and gets another sideways glance from Nixon before he makes his excuses and heads off with Welsh, the both of them greeted with cheers, slaps on the back, and sounds of approval from their guys.

Bucky Egan had two sisters. His older sister was back in Wisconsin happily married with kids. His other sister, his baby sister on the other hand.... well who knows where she is! She left America in 1940 and Bucky hadn't seen her since. She stopped writing a while back.
Charlie Egan left for London with the sole goal of nursing in their hospitals while the Germans blitzed the city with their bombs. Charlie soon realised she was in for a long war. One that took casualties and did not discriminate.
