“That was years ago,” Keith rubbed his thumb against James’s cheek, “it’s okay, I forgive you.”
Those words were like a trigger for James’s tears to just start pouring out of his eyes. James hid his face into Keith’s shoulder: uncomfortable because of the shoulder pads on that suit, but it was better than Keith watching him ugly cry. Keith smiled, wrapping his arms around the other in a tight embrace. He moved their position just slightly to make this more comfortable; James now between his legs and resting on his chest as Keith held him close. He wasn’t good with emotions, but he let him cry for a while in his chest, only giving comforting pats every few seconds.
“I hate you.” James’s words came out shaky as he squeezed Keith a little tighter.
“I know,” Keith hummed, rhymically stroking James’s hair, “I’m sorry.”
