That actually gets Mydei to perk up. He sluggishly lifts his head, the movement so unsteady that Phainon’s hands shoot out to steady him by the shoulders. Mydei doesn’t even seem to notice—which is worrying. Sure, this might be an era of peace for them, but would he really let anyone touch him like this when he’s this drunk?
“Pah! Hish—history?” Mydei fires back, the word wobbling out of his mouth so badly Phainon briefly wonders how much they’ve been drinking. “I’ll—I’ll tell you about history. It starts in Cycle Zero.”
Wait. What.
When Aglaea asked him to pick Mydei up after a drinking session with Cerydra, Phainon did not expect to hear Mydei recount all the different ways he has loved across 33 million cycles.

When Phainon first met him, he thought for sure that the crown prince of Kremnos was a fellow alpha. Like he's one hundred percent sure that Mydeimos the Undying was an alpha like Phainon. They have known each other for nearly four years now and Phainon loves pestering and being around Mydei. So imagine his surprise when Mydei stared at him with a raised eyebrow and said, “I didn't know that I was an alpha in your eyes. Should I be flattered or concerned about your words?” after Phainon pestered him into spending time with him as fellow alpha in arms.
Phainon blinked, “Are you not an alpha like me?” Phainon asked, dumbfounded because was he wrong?
Mydei stared at him, blankly yet there's amusement in his eyes, “What makes you think that I am?” he said instead with an amused glint in his eyes.
In which Phainon is being pathetic towards Mydei LMAO

At the precipice of the Flame-Chase Journey’s conclusion, Phainon makes a visit to Castrum Kremnos bearing gifts for Mydei in a meeting before he fulfils his fate. Pomegranate juice is shared, hair is braided, and hearts are bared in a garden of wildflowers.
