Summary
You thought moving was supposed to be a chance to start fresh, but the past always follows you, even to sleepy little towns in the middle of nowhere.
Your new job at “Cosmic Botanical Gardens” isn’t for the faint of heart. The owners are incompetent and you quickly find you’re the only one who knows anything about botany or plant care.
It wouldn’t be too bad, except one of your employers is as prideful as he is stand-offish. That’s fine by you, though. That is… until his icy exterior cracks unexpectedly, leaving you with feelings you’d rather never experience again.
His solar counterpart is a stark contrast. Always energetic, always giving you an enthusiastic greeting. Despite his quick wit and sass, he makes you feel a type of security you haven’t felt in a long time. A friendship quickly blossoms where you hadn’t expected it to, leading to the formation of dangerous emotions.
But you are far too guarded to fall for anything, let alone anyone. You’ve seen what happens when you open your heart and allow others in. You’re not ready to be vulnerable again and you promise yourself not to allow the butterflies in your stomach to escape.
