“Mr Tanaka said, if you tutor me, your grade will go up.” Nakahara says, almost as if he was embarrassed to mutter those words. “You’d get your fukin’ one whole mark. Thirty out of thirty.”
Dazai didn’t hear anything but ‘your grade will go up’. Sure, Dazai would rather kill himself than have to deal with this idiot any longer, but his grade would go up. That would save him the absolute misery of going home.
Nakahara takes Dazai’s silence as a question to why. “...‘Cause I failed… And I haven't done particularly well in any other assessments in chem, Mr Tanaka said you’d get a 5% increase on your assessments throughout the duration of you tutoring me. I told him it was a shit idea– I agree with you completely, I just thought I’d let you know—.”
Nakahara gets ready to turn away when Dazai grabs his hand and enthusiastically lets out a, “I’ll do it!”
Or,
Chuuya’s a swimmer, a great one at that. But he’s also a fucking idiot. He’s so close to failing most of his classes that he needs to up them if he wants to keep swimming. So, against his will, he’s been forced to get tutored by the genius-asshole, Dazai Osamu. That's it. That's all it is.

Summary
Chuuya’s ears were muffled with static and he couldn’t feel his tongue. It was too large to fit in his mouth, something about it made him want to rip it out. It was much too big and weird and floppy. He hated to admit it but a slight panic jolted through him and for a moment he wanted to rip out his own tongue to get rid of the discomfort that followed. Fortunately for him, this cursed feeling allowed his dulled senses to clear.
The red head turned to look out the window but unfortunately didn’t help his odd situation as they were frosted glass. He could make out the dark void staring back at him outside and a faint glow of the setting sun but other than that, he was completely deserted on a train.

(Sleeping with a headliner, that is.) But for whatever reason, the look in Dazai's eyes—the one right before he kissed Chuuya—plays in his head on repeat.
----Chuuya is a bartender at The Port Comedy Club who once dreamt of the spotlight. While he's used to punchlines and one-night-stands, he's in over his head when meets Dazai, a charming and internet-famous comedian looking to take his career in a new direction.

Dazai doesn't consider himself very capable of taking care of other living beings such as humans or animals. But he can't do anything about that fact when a cat he found at a convenience store doesn't want to let him go, so he impulsively takes the feline home.
The cat proves to be of great help by providing an ear to listen to his troubles.
Especially when the cat doesn't understand the feelings he has on his heart... Right?
Wrong. Apparently Dazai's new furry friend isn't what or who it seems to be... And he slowly realises he might have bitten more than he can chew.
But it's fine as long as he doesn't choke.

Another cup drops and hits him in the head.
He lets out a very small, but hurt “ow” before looking up at the shelf again, just in time to see a fluffy orange paw retreat back inside the shelf.
He gets up and looks between the cups. That's when he spots it.
A blue eye staring right back at him. Sharp pupil, so perhaps a playful cat.

High pressure sounds like code for I’ll make your life hell. Still…
Housing provided. Salary enough to pay off his debt and still have enough left over to buy something that isn’t noodles.
Dazai clicks the “Apply” button.
Then hits “submit.”
The return email comes in so fast it’s suspicious.
He’s barely clicked the button when his laptop pings—new message.Maybe it’s a “thanks but no thanks.” Maybe it’s a scam. Maybe it’s just one of those auto-replies which is corporate code for we’ll delete this in the morning.
He clicks the email.
Watches the loading wheel spin.Finally, the screen blinks.
“Congratulations. Your application has been accepted. Interview scheduled for 9:00 AM tomorrow at the palace.”He bursts out laughing.

Dazai’s breath hitched, and his eyes widened in disbelief. “No, you can’t—”
Then he felt it—something like a subtle shift somewhere inside him. He couldn’t pinpoint where the sensation started or ended, but it was there. And just as quickly as it happened, it went away, as if it had already sealed itself in him, became a part of him.
“What did you just do to me?” he asked, the words barely making it past his throat, more accusation than question.
“Saved you. You’ll probably hate me for it, but that’s what it was.”
or, Vampire!Chuuya finds Dazai on the verge of death, and uses mind compulsion to make him unable to try to end his life ever again. After that, he disappears, leaving Dazai alone for two years of nothing but hatred and resentment toward the vampire who violated his will and trapped him in the pathetic existence people call life. Until, when Chuuya’s the one in need of help, their paths cross again.

"Than, that means Dazai here, or Odysseus, is a part God, right?" Rampo continued. That made even Dazai stop as he he now lifted his gaze to him.
"You could say it like that. Yes, I'm not a human..at least by some parts" Dazai hummed. Everyone now blinked in sync as they glared between Rampo, Hermes, and Dazai.

Dazai squinted. “Did I misread that?”
“Yes,” she said immediately. “You really did.”
He frowned. “I’m not sure I believe that.”
“Well,” she said, still kind of laughing under her breath, “I’m not sure I care.”
