Summary
It’s been two weeks.
They’re holed up in some shitty middle-of-nowhere-planet lodgings. Nicer than most places Bix has lived, but still, shitty. Wil has a room, though he’s set to head out in just a few weeks. Properly join the cause. (Off to die. They all die.)
She and Cassian aren’t to stay for long, either. It’s too open. Not crowded enough. Bix doesn’t like it, anyway —more at home in the hustle of a city—but apparently Luthen wants them lying low for a bit before they’re off again. Before Cassian is off again. Bix is pretty sure Luthen doesn’t give two fucks what she does.
She spends a lot of the time in the bathroom, which probably drives the other two crazy, but they wouldn’t like her puking everywhere either. It’s a lot of puking. She can’t seem to keep food down.
~~~
Set during the time skip post-s02e03. Bix wants things to be over. Cassian intervenes.
Summary
Vel turns and pulls the door closed behind her. Sits at the table with her mug held in her hands. On the other side of the table, Kleya plaits her hair into two small braids. The candle burns between them. It smells of trees and mountain air. It smells of here, of the solstice, of this ritual they have built for themselves.
- Vel, Kleya and making new traditions.
Summary
'We're going,' Kleya says, bags in hand. 'Get used to the idea.'
Vel stares at her. She opens her mouth, but nothing comes out.
'I know you have a complex relationship with the place,' Kleya says, filling the silence. 'But it is changing. Time goes on. Things can’t always be fair. You hate your planet and it’s still here. I loved mine and it’s gone.’
'I'm sorry.'
'Don't be sorry, just finishing packing.'
