Summary
“We should make it a road trip, Eddie! We never hang out anymore, Eddie! It’ll be so fun, Eddie!” Eddie mimics, his voice trailing as he disappears into the tiny bathroom connected to their Budget Queen motel room.
“We’re not stranded,” Buck scoffs. “And you weren’t saying that when you were stuffing your face with the tamales that I found, or the cherry pie that I read about.”
Or, there was only one bed. And a lot of bickering.

“It just—when we were at the club. You made it seem like maybe, there’s a reason you’re not dating… women.”
Eddie freezes. Ravi had said it the other night, but Eddie had not been expecting him to so boldly repeat it after the previous unfavorable reaction.
“And—I—I know that sometimes reasons for not dating women can be… um, you know, hard to process. Alone.”
Oh good lord, he’s really going there.

Summary
“Sorry, uh, I’m not doing this right,” she says.
“Doing what right?” Eddie asks.
“Actually, sorry, one sec, this is bugging me,” she says before flicking her wrist in the direction of the star. It shifts where it sits atop the tree, untouched, straightening ever so slightly.
“Much better,” she says, turning back to Eddie with a smile.
“H-how did you do that?” Eddie asks.
“I’m your ghost of Christmas past,” she explains, as if it’s the simplest thing on earth. In Eddie’s—albeit, sleep deprived—mind, it certainly is not.
“My…huh?”
OR
On the night before Christmas, Eddie is visited by three (or four) ghosts who show him what it means to let go, to be loved, and to love someone back.

“And so maybe you’re — you’re kind of like a penguin, you know? And I always liked penguins — they’re great, right? Who doesn’t like penguins? — but that was never me. I was something else. Like a cheetah, maybe. Do you — do you get what I’m saying?”
And Buck…
Buck absolutely does not get when Eddie’s saying.
But now Eddie’s looking at him with these imploring eyes — golden brown and gleaming — and Buck doesn’t want to do anything to disrupt this groove he’s in, not when he’s talking about what he wants, about things that make him happy.
So, “Yeah,” he says, and when Eddie smiles again, all relief, he knows it’s the right call.
Or: Eddie comes out to Buck; Buck thinks he wants to go to the zoo.

Summary
As it turns out, Chris had been waiting for his dad to confirm they could stay in LA.
“This is home,” he’d stated simply. And that had been that.
However, that left the Diaz boys with one tiny problem - their former house was currently occupied. Luckily for them, said occupant loved their company and welcomed them back home with open arms. There wasn’t much by way of discussion - Eddie had told Buck that he and Christopher were staying in LA, Buck showed Christopher that his room was ready and waiting for him, and they celebrated with an evening of pizza and video games.
For a while, things were easy. Simple. Eddie was back at the 118, all of their belongings had been shipped over from El Paso, and the three of them developed a rhythm that made living together seamless.
At some point along the way, though, something shifted.
or; Eddie is in love with Buck. Buck is in love with Eddie. Neither knows how to deal with their current living situation, and instead of talking about it, things spiral out of control.
