Not everyone tells him when they have a Memento. Lucas had kept to himself, and Will had refused to tell Steve about his dream. Some of them just tell him, softly, I remembered number one-seventy-three, or I had a Memento, last night. Sometimes it’s easier to just mention that it happened, acknowledge it and move on.
And Robin, for the most part, had done this. She hadn’t mentioned the details, because she’s sure that Steve is tired of hearing them, doesn’t want to hear his death from another person’s eyes, another person who is left with his body for a day before the loop dissolves into nothingness.
AKA: In the aftermath of it all, when Steve is learning what happiness means for him, people start to remember his deaths.

“Touya,” Shouto’s voice, soft and curious behind him. His small fingers are curled in the fabric of Touya’s jacket and it makes Touya stop. Shouto’s head falls to the side. “Why are you crying?”
Touya doesn’t say anything. His lips are wobbling, his tongue is stuck in his throat and all he can do is stare into the eyes of his younger brother and cry. It burns. It burns. It burns.
“Is it my fault again?” Shouto whispers. His own eyes fill with tears, his face twists. “I’m sorry.”
“Just die,” Touya growls through his clenched teeth. Tears drip off his chin and he pushes Shouto back, out of his way. “Everyone just fucking die already.”

"This," Courtney said, pulling the small instrument from her pocket in a rather theatrical fashion, "is the black box of the Mecha Man suit."
To her disappointment, her announcement only raised a few eyebrows, instead of the loud cheering she expected. What an ungrateful bunch of losers.

Malevola has him pinned against her side, hanging onto him like she’s afraid he’s going to get swallowed by the drunken crowd. Sonar is on her other side, ears glowing faintly with the strobe lights as he knocks into her repeatedly.
Visi swings by, wipes the corner of his mouth, then disappears. Hot hands find his head a second- seconds? minutes? later. The flash of orange and black coming closer has him swaying dangerously to catch whatever Flambae starts to mutter against his ear. Something about shitty music?
Coop saunters past with a glint of metal, prying the empty tumbler from his hand. Punch Up appears with a full one to replace it. It makes his face flush when he takes a swig.
“Yo! Anyone seen Golem?” Prism pushes through. She’s got Waterboy by the wrist; She might be about to use him to purposely slip people and get them out of her way. Phenomaman is floating after them.
Visi comes back again, this time with Blazer holding on for dear life. They’re hugging like it’s the end of the world instead of just being drunk in a shitty bar. Blazer smiles, dimples showing. His vision swims.
The whiskey burns. So does the ache in his chest.

Then both of those noises stop and he realises he didn’t know what silence was before that, how much the low background sound was filling up.

Steve hears them before he feels them; a warm, wet pain burning in his torso, intolerably excruciating.
There’s a bundle of squawks and screams, outbursts of panic and anger, and it’s only when Hopper falls forwards to take Steve up into a slightly rough, protective hold, does he realize that two of those shots have lodged themselves in his own flesh and bone. (Realizes that he’d moved, instinctively, to shield El, despite never having spoken to her, who’d the gun had been so precisely pointed at, aimed for.)
Steve Harrington watches his own blood pool and trickle over a series of hands pressed against him, small and large, soft and rugged, and for a moment, wants to stay like this. He can’t.
