Summary
All Cody wanted from the Jedi was a competent, fair general; so that he could focus on keeping his men safe, and maybe trying to live up to the name Jango Fett had bestowed on him.
Nothing could have prepared him for Kenobi save for the experience itself: crashing across the galaxy, from caf-and-stims-fueled battlefield highs down to heady fluorescent ship-side lows.
But then, he supposes, this war had a habit of exceeding his expectations, in all the best and worst ways. This is that story through Cody's eyes.

Summary
It’s rather jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing when one does not remember how they came to be there. It’s even more jarring to wake in the Halls of Healing to learn that you have been asleep there for four years, and that during that time, your padawan has left the Order, the galaxy has broken out into war, the Jedi have become war heroes, your padawan has left you, the Sith have returned, the Republic is under attack, and Anakin Skywalker will not return your comm calls.
After Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes, he has little choice but to move on. There is a war to be fought. There are battles to be won. There is a new Sith lord named Vader who has taken an inexplicable but undeniable interest in him. Untangling the hurt and anger he feels at Anakin’s absence from his life will simply have to wait.

Summary
Ventress was right when she said that General Kenobi would never assume Cody’s position beneath her malevolent hands, but her reasoning had been wrong. Cody would never give the General the opportunity to take his place. One of the few comforts that he had allowed himself - the true vow he had permitted himself to make - was that he would never outlive his Jedi.
He’d endure a thousand tortures and a thousand deaths before he subjected himself to a galaxy without General Kenobi in it.
“You’re going to hurt him, Commander Cody,” Ventress whispered, and Cody startled at the sound of his name on her tongue. He did not realise that she even knew it. “I want to pity you. Martyring yourself for a Jedi who wouldn’t take your place. For a Jedi who, once you are done with him, will wish for nothing more than your death.”
Or: Obi-Wan and the 212th are held hostage by Ventress, who contrives of a unique way to torment the Jedi General by pitting his own biology against him. Locked in a cell with his alpha Commander, Obi-Wan Kenobi has to find an escape before his heat takes control.

Summary
Clones didn't have real daemons.
Certainly, each had an identical grey wolf following at heel. But the creatures were stiff and robotic, devoid of both personality and speech. Whatever artificial daemons the scientists of Kamino had dreamed up to mass produce, it was clear that clones couldn't possibly have real souls. It was convenient to remember that fact, when they were sent to die by the thousands.
And within the GAR's ranks and the hallways of Kamino, the vod'e have to decide for themselves. How to be good soldiers, how to be brothers, how to be real people, when even their souls are nothing but cogs in the machine of war.

Summary
“Y’know, I did try to quit once. But some old habits it seems die harder than most.” Cid’s raspy voice cuts through his musings (again, he smokes too much), drawing Clive’s gaze once again. Cid flicks off a bit of ash, Clive watching it drift towards the ground where it snuffs itself out.
“They make different types,” Clive points out, trying not to shy away from Cid’s gaze as it turns towards him. “Heard the men in the army comparing them. Maybe you just need to try something different.”
“Something different…” Cid’s voice trails off even as his gaze becomes more intense. Clive’s eyes dart down to Cid’s lips where they draw up into a smirk, and he looks away before he can betray himself any further. He swears he hears a laugh in Cid’s next words. “Aye, maybe I’ll do that. I wonder what they might taste like?” The question is rhetorical so Clive doesn’t say anything.
Especially since all he can think about is wondering what Cid tastes like.

“You’ve made that very clear, Master,” Anakin said, and to Obi-Wan’s surprise there was only a little mulishness in it. “I made you a gift to use instead.”(Anakin gives Obi-Wan a fucking machine for his next heat, but he wants Obi-Wan to test it out first.)
