“Oh, please,” Shane rolls his eyes. “You think I’m going to come during a hockey competition?”
Ilya’s expression grows more taunting before he turns to walk away. “Maybe. Maybe you are going to come watching me win a hockey competition. Untouched.”

In fact, Ilya’s absolutely certain that if he lets a kiss happen right fucking now, it’ll mess so much with his poor, shredded, and damaged heart that he wouldn’t know what to do with it.
So instead, he permits himself a small brush of Shane’s hair, on the pretense that he’s just pushing it out of his eyes, and then he steps out of the reach of Shane’s hand. Shane’s face immediately looks so crestfallen that Ilya blurts out:
“Let me walk you to your room.”
Like he’s - blyat, his fucking parent or they’re a couple in a 1950s movie, or something.
Shane’s eyes darken and - fuck this is a bad idea.
Just like everything else they do.
Ilya motions at Shane to drink more water while he grabs a sanitizing wipe and walks over to the bike he’d been using earlier. There’s a little burble of laughter behind him, and he looks up from wiping the seat down to raise an eyebrow at Shane.
“What? I am practicing good gym behavior. I am not an asshole.”
Shane’s face grows inordinately soft, then, and he says quietly:
“No. You’re not.”

Summary
“I am just here to give you what you want,” he says, making his tone lower, slower, like he’s licking each syllable to perfect completion.
The perk of having to learn a second language? One must practice it, very much akin to an instrument, and in that practice - one may learn to manipulate it in ways unfathomable to a native speaker. And while Ilya may not be as confident in his pronunciation of certain words or executing particular turns of phrase?
He has at least mastered the ability of making them hot. And specifically when it comes to Hollander, Ilya's also perfected the right balance of teasing and deadpan sarcasm, a combination that never fails to rile Hollander up while simultaneously getting him going like a rocket shooting off to the moon.
In this particular version of a sexy Space Race, Ilya is happy to let Canada have the lead.

And so the text remains, in his phone, in his pocket, unsent and unsaid while Shane bangs his head on the elevator wall in deep contemplation of the brush of Rozanov’s lips against his, the snake of Rozanov’s tongue past his teeth. The very particular and divine experience of Rozanov’s escalation of that trademark mode of sultry suction that pushes past not only the flushed bloom of Shane’s lips but also apparently beyond all of his defenses because -
Hell. Fucking absolute hell.
Shane might be starting to like him.
Okay, well - this is unexpected, unanticipated, entirely unplanned for - and therefore, Shane’s nipping that one down in the bud.
He squares the slope of his shoulders as the elevator comes to a stop on the eighth floor, and the doors open…
…to reveal a very tousled, slightly out of breath, and beautifully flushed Ilya Rozanov, as if Shane summoned him here via his own dastardly brain matter. He looks the same as when Shane left him save for the fact that he’s replaced the damp towel around his hips with a pair of slacks and the white formal shirt he’d been sporting when Shane initially walked in.
The buttons on both are undone.

Ilya’s pretty sure he’s lost the ability to breathe entirely, choking out: “You know I do,” because what else is there to fucking say?
Other than of course, the Shane Hollander constant of:
“I have an idea.” Shane rocks back slightly, expression suddenly earnest. His hand continues its ministrations, so it takes Ilya a full half minute of seeking mental clarity before he can respond.
“What?” He tries to make the question exasperated despite the swell of fondness in his chest at the little smile playing across Shane’s lips.
“When you do cave and ask me -” Shane pauses with a little huff, “because you will! We should fuck bare.”
And oh my god Ilya is actually going to die. He is actually going to fucking die in this cottage in Ottawa, Canada, and those weird wolf bird things are going to peck the flesh off of his body and his bones are going to slowly turn to dust when they’re through.
