She peeled off her gloves, “I definitely can't see your heat signature, maybe next time you should try standing in a freezer for a while before hiding in the shadows,” and placed them in her pocket.
She walked forward, her heels click-clacking against the hardwood floor, she paused for a moment, and in a flash, he was on her, arms wrapped around her waist from behind and nosing his face into her neck.

There's a thing that Stanford's twin has always been better at than him: seeing what's on people's faces. Stanley can look at them and know what they're thinking, when to shut up, and it's something Stanford can't seem to learn. Despite his best efforts, somehow everyone knows there's something up with him when they talk to him, and he has no idea what to do about it.
Stanford shuffles his feet on the floor, twisting his fingers. Ma stands up and walks up to him with creased eyebrows.
"Stop that," she sighs, batting at his hands.
"Why?" he asks very quietly, following her to the kitchen. "Because it's not normal?"
"Normal's not real," Ma mutters, "They made that up."Stanford doesn't think his parents know either.
