When Ed gets stuck behind the same slow driver for a long stretch of his road trip through the Pacific Northwest, that's one thing. When he finds himself at the same rest stop as the offending driver, it's quite another.
This Stede guy is a bit of a lunatic. But when Ed crosses paths with him again several days later, this time stranded on the side of the highway and in need of some assistance, Ed winds up on a slightly different road trip than the one he'd planned to take—with a man he absolutely doesn't plan to fall in love with.
Clearly, plans change.

Summary
Ed had never really believed in anything at first sight. Always seemed like a load of rubbish, if he was honest. How are you supposed to know someone with just a glance? And yet, when he set his eyes on the delicious blonde man, however, Ed thought that maybe there was something to it after all.
The man beamed at Ed through his wire-rimmed glasses, delicious hazel eyes under a mess of sugar spun blonde hair. The man was indeed something, Ed thought, wearing a trimmed, well-fitting lavender suit jacket over a light lemon-yellow button down shirt, his ring adorned fingers resting on the bench.
Who the hell wears a suit. To a baking competition. On a 30°C day. “Fascinating,” Ed mumbled to himself.
