Summary
Who do the Gods pray to for victory in their time of need? For protection of their loved ones? Perhaps that was why so few chose to love at all. As they waded into battle, as they had so many times before, Venti decided to take a page from the guidance of humanity, vowing to himself and his name that he would do whatever it took to see the dawn of the next day with these brave souls all still present at his side. The fear felt further away then...but never strayed too far.
Venti had lost his first friend, had lost Vennessa in a different sense, but so long as his body did not fail him, he would not lose Lumine. Not her. Not here. Not yet.

The first thing that Albedo registered was the earthy smell that started to fill the bathroom, even with most of the trail escaping outside.Kaeya paused in his next drag and pulled the joint away from his lips. “Don’t stand there by the door like a scared little bunny rabbit. I don’t bite, Albedo.”
The words sent an unfamiliar warmth to the pit of his stomach. “I’m not scared.”
Albedo walked forward a few steps to stand beside the taller man, towering over him even as he leaned against the countertop.
“Good,” Kaeya said, eyes sparkling in humor. “I don’t want to peer pressure you, but the offer is there if you’d like to join me.”
“I—“ he began slowly. “I-I would like to try it. I’ve read about the neurological effects of cannabis, and I do find myself curious.”
Albedo is convinced to attend a party and expects a normal night of observing the crowd. However, he locks eyes with Kaeya from his photography class and nothing about the night can be considered normal again.

“Huh? Why’d you stop?” asks Venti.
“You weren’t answering me,” repeats Zhongli as a hand tilts the younger god’s chin up so their gazes can meet. “You aren’t falling asleep, are you? Your mind elsewhere?”
in which the gods of earth and wind mess around while venti visits liyue one evening and they tread too close to the truth. or, zhongli really likes barbatos' wings and makes a point to let it be known in the hottest possible way.

“Mister Albedo, it’s alright.” She reached out a hand to snake around his slender arm when she noticed him swaying. “Y-you worked so hard and for so long last night you passed out. I could barely read your note to me, but I figured it out. I made the last endurance potion and gave the supplies you made to Jean. It’s all okay. Why don’t you s-sit down for a moment? You’re not looking so well.”
He held onto her for what seemed like dear life when she reached out to him, unable to mask his unsteadiness. The light headedness from the night before came back full force, complete with a headache and the fatigue he was unable to shake.
“You didn’t sleep for more than a few hours,” Sucrose continued, easing him back down into a sitting position. “I know it’s out of place for me to say, but, you’re really pale, your hair came undone, and you have, um,” her face grew red. “Y-you have bags under your eyes. I think you need to go back to sleep.”
