Everything was static inside the head of Itoshi Rin. Nothing was really computing inside his brain and there was a knife twisting in his chest, even if said knife was only in his imagination. A tear scaped his eye and he was sure that was real, it tasted real.

He wasn't sure about that answer. What he was sure of was that this feeling felt like dying, again. Like planning his death, again. And he was sure he was ready to try, again. To find the Nii-chan he hasn't seen in a long time, because maybe in the after life, there was his Nii-chan. Not Itoshi Sae, only Sae, Rin's Nii-chan.

Bunny shepherds the exhausted striker out of the stadium and forgets to tell Ego or anyone else about it.

“Life is so pointless,” Rin thought, hands reaching up to stare at. He flexed his fingers out and in, looking at the palm and back of his rough hands. “I’m thinking like a lukewarm again. …But what if… What if life really is pointless? If it is…” His thoughts paused as he sat up to clutch his two hands together. Hah… Who would’ve thought those stupid thoughts of his returned? But what if that was what he needed. …What he needed… His mouth opened slowly, shaking quite violently as he thought for a while.
Or, Rin dies from committing, Sae gets depressed, and magically goes back in time to change the past and mistakes to save Rin. Will Sae be able to save Rin, or will his stupid words affect Rin again?

The word about the Defense Force hosting an annual gala spread through the First Division’s corridors in excited cheers and quiet, hopeful expectations. It wasn’t exactly a gala — more like a three-day public exhibition showcasing Defense Force technology advancement in collaboration with "Izumo Tech" — but the final evening would culminate in a refined networking dinner. High-ranking officers, developers, political figures, and some of Japan's wealthiest investors would attend.
As the event took place only once every four years, the whole of Japan treated it almost like a national holiday. Which included elegant outfits, paparazzi, and gossip, of course.
