Summary
Uchiha Sakura realized she didn't want the life she'd dreamed of as a young girl. Civilian-born paper ninja (Y/N) has been heartbroken since the woman she's loved for years came back to Konoha married and holding a newborn. Yet, after Sasuke left immediately after he dropped Sakura and Sarada off, (Y/N) stepped up to the plate and helped both mother and child with nothing to gain. After a few years, can a newly-divorced Sakura own up to her changing feelings for (Y/N)?
This is essentially a slice-of-life wish fulfillment fic in which I get to live my little gay fantasy of Haruno Sakura falling in love with a partner who treasures her. There will be no Sasuke bashing, and no Boruto plotlines (only the characters, like Sarada).

You were nice. You were so unfairly nice. She was sure that if she spoke up in chat, made her presence known rather than hide in silence, you’d welcome her with open arms as you did for everyone.
She was sure you’d listen to what she had to say. Really listen.
You wouldn’t make her feel like an unwanted burden. You’d tell her that she was enough just the way she was, that what she had to say mattered. You wouldn’t brush her off because you thought what she had to say was irrelevant. You wouldn’t pretend to want to be her friend just so you could hurt and mock her.
It was a stupid, delirious thought of a heartbroken teenager, desperate for connection, desperate to feel wanted.
