Summary
Fifteen years now Martin Blackwood has been servant to Lord Jonathan Sims in his Cornwall estate. His service began when he was barely fourteen, and he has diligently obeyed his master from the very beginning. The nearest village isn’t for miles, which suits Martin just fine, solitary man that he is. Lord Sims is not fond of entertaining visitors save for a few exceptions in London. He is a private man.
But Martin Blackwood knows a secret about Jonathan Sims that few know.
His master is a vampire.

Summary
At first, Jon had insisted that a whole different universe couldn’t possibly celebrate Halloween as well. The chances were astronomical, he said. He was wrong, of course. On October 1st, some primary school students had accosted Jon on his daily walk, (running up to him and nearly knocking his cane out of his hand) begging him to give out the “big sweets” when they went trick-or-treating. Their parents had been mortified.

Summary
Jon works at Claire’s. He is twenty-six years old and is the manager of the Claire’s located in Magnus Mall despite his having a degree in English Literature from Oxford. Suffice to say, he is very disappointed in where his life is at. It’s temporary, he reminds himself as he trudges into the large building labelled “Magnus Mall”. It’s just until he can find a solid archiving job. He’d thrown his lot in with multiple austere academic havens and as far as he could tell his applications were just floating around in their systems, so Claire’s it had been. Humiliating as it was, Elias Bouchard, owner of Magnus Mall and subsequently each store within, promoted him to manager swiftly. He supposes that’s better than minimum wage, so it will have to do. For now, his dreams of academic grandeur would have to wait. Jon steels himself and unlocks Claire’s.
AKA an AU in which all the characters in TMA work in a mall. Archives team works in a Claire's, Elias is the owner of the mall, and Peter Lukas sugar daddy/funds it. Also, Basira and Daisy are mall cops. Enjoy!

The sound of a passing car pulled Jon back to the present. His eyes blinked open. His arm ached again, the belt forgotten on the floor.
The guilt never really left. It just changed form.
It was pills, then heroin. It was missed deadlines and avoidance. It was limping without a cane because pride still whispered louder than common sense. It was ignoring Martin’s kind eyes and throwing himself off cliffs he built with his own hands.
It was Elias.
It was himself.
Jon stared at the ceiling until the high thinned out into nausea and ache.
Maybe next week with Martin, he’d talk about it.
Or maybe he wouldn’t.
He hadn't decided yet if he wanted to be forgiven.

He’s not heading for disaster.

Sasha says, “Bad sensory day?”
Jon does look up at her then, just for a moment. She’s frowning slightly, but not in a way that looks unkind. She’s leaning against the desk, not too close to him, and her fingers are tapping against the underside of it in a way that’s instantly familiar to Jon.
“Yes,” he says, instead of angrily pretending he has no idea what she’s talking about, the way he usually would.
Sasha nods. Hesitates again. Finally she says, very abruptly, in a way that’s also deeply familiar, “I’ve got something that might help, if you want.”
