Summary
200 years.
That's how long it took.
Ever since the tragedy that happened in the town of Oakhurst, a small, abandoned town with its own dark history, no one dared to set foot in it. The few locals that lived nearby told stories of the one night where the trees went up in flames. When they heard shrieks and calls in the middle of the night.
But what the few remaining residents knew wasn’t that of a murder case, in a way, and certainly nothing human.
Vampires.
The folklore about the young lumberjack who wakes to rein his terror over the town in revenge to his dearly departed sire wasn’t all that false. Neither was the one about the castle far off in the woods that seemed to rebuild itself.
But none of that was really important. Not after wildlife had begun to be reported around the area, bloodied and gutted. It was something only an animal could think to do.

Avid comes back to life after the finale. Pearl and Cleo have to deal with him.

Summary
The day had started out fine.
There had been a sort of ache inside Pyro's chest that flared when he noticed Abolish had already left for the day, but it was fine.
Maybe Pyro had been feeling more sensitive than usual by the reminder that Abolish had other responsibilities.
Other more important responsibilities.
But it was fine.

Summary
By all accounts and purposes, Jack von Pyroscythe should be dead. They actually remember what happened very clearly- odd considering their previous experience with death and everything that followed. True, permanent death is hard for a vampire, but Shelby seemed to have found it relatively easy considering the stake that went through Pyro's chest.
And yet, here they are. Dirt under their nails, bloodied, and waiting on a carriage with Abolish Veylocke by his side.
