Summary
Jimmy thinks of the kiss often. At first, in nightmares. In one, Anstruther is holding him down, whispering, “you’ll like it, you’ll like it, do it for me” as Thomas draws nearer, leering at him.
In another, Jimmy is Snow White, cursed to sleep eternity away in a glass coffin in the woods. Thomas swears his kiss will free Jimmy, and Jimmy’s loyal dwarfs say, “Please kiss him! Please save him!”, and lead Thomas right to Jimmy’s supine form. Jimmy tries to tell them that Thomas is lying, that Thomas is not his true love, but the curse keeps him stuck still.
He always wakes before Thomas kisses him, heaving breaths of five a.m. darkness.

“He doesn’t deserve you,” she says. “I know you love him. I don’t know why, but I know you do. But it doesn’t mean you’ve got to let him walk all over you.” Thomas’ head slumps back miserably against the wall.
“It’s the only way I can get him all over me,” Thomas says, and then smiles helplessly. Sybil does the same.
