Ena rolled her eyes, slouching even further down her chair. "So, let me get this straight,” she tapped her chin thoughtfully. “You keep wimping out every time you’re about to confess your undying love to Toya, and now you're turning to me for advice? Wow, you must be really desperate."
Akito dragged his hands down his face, letting out a frustrated groan. "Look, can we please just focus on finding a solution instead of dissecting my poor life choices?"
Ena smirked, a wicked glint in her eyes. "Oh, don't worry, little bro. I'm full of solutions. Whether they work or not is another story."
Akito groaned again, thoroughly regretting every decision he’d made in life that led him up to this point.

He had began to hate Harumichi for putting him through grueling practice, and by proxy, he had began to hate the piano, hate its vast range of emotion he couldn’t emulate for how hard he tried, hate everything that tied him to the endless expectations.

Toya, even in the position he’s in, has the audacity to lull his head back and groan in irritation, “You gonna ask anything else besides that?” He smiled, feeling the cool metal threatening to pierce his skin as Akito grew increasingly more pissed off, “You’re sounding like a broken record.”

Summary
There was something that interested Akito in those who wanted to fit in. How the need to please another and the potential of disappointing another drove others actions, and motivated them to behave various ways. The pressure of society and those you look up to, the pressure of impressions and need to please others somehow played the largest factor in why others acted how they did rather than free will, or need to be yourself.
Akito never knew why that concept brought him intrigue, or why he wished to seek out that answer. Akito would never find out why a single, frail, pianist had managed to single-handedly push him to pursue that interest, a pianist who at first Akito thought of as dumb, or akin to a lost puppy.
He never understood the other. Perhaps that element of mystery was what drove Akito to seek the boy out despite his initial irritation, an element of unsurity and need to uncover the truth that turned into something closer to adoration or fondness, one Akito knew was too late to express.
Akito, thinking about it all now, knowing the truth behind it all, realized he’d never be able to celebrate that victory.
“Good things happen to those who wait.”
Maybe he had waited too long.

Akito never really thought about what he’d do after he’d finally beaten RAD WEEKEND. It always seemed like this distant and massive undertaking so it never occurred to him that it might only take 2 years (post-formation of VBS) to accomplish.
What also almost finishes after about two years?
Oh yeah, most of high school.
With the end of his third year coming up, Akito begins to realize that he might be the only one that hadn’t been thinking about ‘after’ and that he has now fallen behind in a different way.
