    “Everyone calls you Deku now,” Kacchan grumbles, crossing his arms.

    “I guess so,” Izuku realizes, “but don’t force yourself to say Izuku-”

    “I already told you, I ain’t forcing myself to do anything.”

    Or, Izuku is finally back at UA, and Kacchan is somehow even more amazing. And it's because of Izuku's classmates, his friends, and especially because of Kacchan that his first day back at UA, clean, rested, and content, is such a great one. Izuku gets to thank his friends, remember what it feels like to not be alone anymore, and finally, finally talk to Kacchan about everything.

    “Bakugo, you need to update your costume.” Kirishima said, “There’s this one dude in the support class- he’s got a literal waiting list, that’s how good he is- but he did my new upgrade."

    “Yeah,” Bakugo sighs and leans back on his hands, staring at the bracer. “I know. I’ll go,” his mouth twists a little. “I’ll go tomorrow. This is just- this is my design you know?” he’s not explaining himself very well, and refuses to look at Kirishima.

    “It can be hard to give up your first hero design, and you did a great job,” Kirishima said. “You definitely had the best one out of all of us when we first got our costumes."

    Bakugo hunched his shoulders. “I didn’t design it,” he grumbled.

    It felt like some sort of twisted déjà vu and Katsuki thought he could puke, as he watched four of Shigaraki’s fingers wrap around a really still Deku as Kurogiri’s shadows wrapped around them.

    He thought maybe, he understood now, what Deku must’ve felt when during the summer training camp he’d been unable to reach for Katsuki in time.

    But Katsuki couldn’t accept it, he was going to reach in time because there was no other option. He just couldn’t-

    “It’s okay, Kacchan,” Deku said, an arm-length away from him, “Thank you,” and he smiled.

    “DEKU!” Katsuki’s hands reached forward but closed on nothing as Kurogiri warped them away.

    AKA Izuku gets taken, Katsuki loses his mind, gets Izuku back, confesses his feelings and shows just how much he cares about his sweet Izuku.
