Every time it flays him open. Here is his rival, naked in his bed, giving Ilya his body and trusting him not to abuse it.
It’s a heady thing.
Ilya blindfolds Shane and unintentionally creates a metaphor for his own feelings.

“I’ll be fine.” Pulling back, Riku tries to free his hand from Sora’s grip. “Sora. Let go, I need to put pressure on it.”
Sora finally lets his fingers fall, unable to stop staring at the deep red staining the sand. Something inside of his chest clenches, an ache spreading underneath his sternum, coiling around his heart.
The sight of blood — Riku’s blood — hurts him inside.
Sora, and his relationship with Riku via the injuries they acquire over the years.

Summary
A Stardust AU featuring Sora as a fresh-faced adventurer setting off on a quest to find a star. Unbeknownst to him, stars aren't just chunks of celestial rock. And so he meets Riku, a sassy star with his own plans to get the hell off world and get back to his damn job.
Their adventures take them to strange places, with love and loss along the way.
Part two is a short E-rated follow-up of their lives after the events of Celestial Mechanics.

Expectations is the longest, with nine chapters and a lot of worldbuilding, and features Caitlin and Marshal as well. It builds the world of the Unova Elite Four, and how their day to day interactions play out in their developing friendships.
First Day shows a glimpse into a Shauntal arriving at the Pokemon League for the first time.
Inspiration is from Grimsley's POV, and takes the two on a not-date to the Nimbasa theme park.
Stepping Stone shows how two people might be drawn together again and again, despite the things that get in the way.

And there are reasons he hasn’t told anybody this, good reasons, even though he’s sure June and Nora saw through him ages ago. Faced with his mom’s disappointment, though, and with the realization that the entire world apparently thinks he hates Henry and would willingly shove him into a fucking cake, he can’t stay quiet.
“But we are friends,” he says, vehement and serious. “We have been for years. He’s—he’s probably my best friend, actually, along with Nora.”

To be fair, that’s the least pressing issue at the moment. Top of that list would be the absolutely excruciating pain in forearm and, oh yeah, the fact that people are shooting at him.
(Well past the age where most people have swapped bodies with their soulmate, Alex has all but given up on the idea that he might have one. But when he suddenly swaps in the middle of a rooftop chase and finds himself caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse, he quickly discovers how far he's willing to go to save his soulmate's life.)

Summary
The man starts to cock the hammer of gun, and Alex squeezes his eyes shut, his lower lip trembling almost imperceptibly.
“Stop!” Henry shouts, his voice cracking. “I’ll give you whatever you want, I’ll do anything…just please, don’t hurt him.”
Alex’s eyes fly open, shooting Henry the same incredulous look that he gave him in the hallway, and Henry knows he’s shown too much of his hand, revealed a part of himself that he’d sworn he would take to his grave, but he’s too full of fear and desperation to feel self-conscious about it now. He can deal with the consequences when they get out of this.
