Summary
Everything had been planned to the tee. Sonic and Boom would release the virus, Delphi would be shut down, and Pharma, First Aid and Ambulon would be safely shipped away to a new outpost, far away from the dangerous clutches of the DJD.
Except Pharma hadn't planned for a surprise visit from the Autobot CMO, or to be found out as quickly as he was. Now, as he stands there, surrounded and without escape, he's resigned to his fate of prison, death, or both. Instead, he's extended grace from a bot he's never met, and given the opportunity to right his wrongs.
Or: A Universe where the Lostlight got to Delphi before everything went to further shit, Pharma, Ambulon and First Aid got rescued, all three became a part of the medical staff on board, Pharma gets the support he needs, and also the warm ending he deserves.

Desperate for answers—or maybe just absolution—Ratchet steps back into the past. Back to the academy halls where Pharma was still untouchable. Back to the moment the functionist system tightened its grip. Back to Delphi. And back to the choices that turned a medic into something unrecognizable.

Pharma is on Messatine, feeling lonely and abandoned, when Tarn arrives in the dead of night with an offer he can't refuse. With Tarn's threats hanging over his head, Pharma tries to take matters into his own hands. Years later, the war is over and Ratchet is on Cybertron, trying to get their first new hospital up and running. Pharma agrees to be the head of surgery but Ratchet sees little of the mech he remembers. The new Pharma is paranoid, unpredictable, and definitely hiding something.
Or, in the words of my beta reader: Pharma deals with Tarn in the past and Ratchet deals with Pharma in the present.
This fic is only loosely connected to Lesser Evil and was written essentially as a stand-alone.
