Ilya wanted to get up, shake it off, keep playing, score his fucking hat trick. But it felt like his body wasn't his own. Like he was a marionette with its strings caught off. Gravity increased by tenfold it seemed and Ilya was too tired to resist it.
The sword was still in his chest and Ilya could vividly imagine in his head the blood pulling beneath him. But as he looked down there was nothing but white ice all around him.
In his last moments of consciousness, just like every night before falling asleep, Ilya thought of Shane. His lovely shane with his beautiful freckles.
As ilya’s world succumbed to darkness he had just enough time to think “I would take a sword to the chest for him” ,then everything went black and Ilya could no longer feel.***************************************************************
Or, Ilya should have known one day his body wont be able to bear Ilya's awful habits and sad life, he just didnt expect to have a fucking heart attack on the ice.

Play was called and medics from Boston and Montreal rushed on. Shane could feel his heart beating out of his chest.
Get up Ilya, come on baby, get up.
He was stood waiting, trying so desperately to just seem like a concerned opposing player. When in reality Shane felt like his heart was being ripped in two. He had just about convinced himself to sit down, that Ilya would be back up with his cocky smirk in no time; then he saw the blood splattered on the ice.
OR
Ilya gets injured in a game against the Voyagers, and our poor anxious baby Shane goes to pieces. Everything is exposed on the ice and nothing will ever be the same again.
