The baby unlatches with a soft little sound and goes limp, milk-drunk and warm.
Jon is sitting on the recliner.
“Can you pass her to me?” He whispers. “So you can rest.”
Sansa doesn’t even think about the fact that her shirt is pushed up and her bra is unclipped. Modesty has become a joke three weeks into unexpected motherhood. She shifts carefully and hands the baby over. Jon takes her gently and holds her against his chest. He kisses her head.
The sight of Jon with their daughter is comforting and one of her favorite things. It’s also a problem.
Because soon he’ll have to go back to Castle Black and this little world they’ve built where they’re parents who sleep in the same room for the baby’s sake and cry together when she does something cute, will disappear. Soon their lives will turn into trains and custody plans and calendars and silence and Sansa doesn’t know how they’ll survive that.

Summary

Sansa Stark lives with her brother Robb, who is about to marry his fiancé, Jeyne, making Sansa more of a burden to her brother than a help. Grieving the loss of her friend, Val, and battling her own disappointments in love, Sansa Stark and Jon Snow decide to marry to solve both their problems. Sansa would be given a home of her own, and Jon would be given a mother for his children.
Can these two friends find a path through grief and hardship to love again?

Wisdom would dictate she cease. No matter what she did she couldn’t--he wouldn’t—he’d never allow himself to so much as caress her, and she’d long since taken to her layers as comfort. The thick cloth and leathers her protection from those unwanted gazes, and she was angry that she was so foolish to open herself to this now. But trust allowed for foolishness, and anger made her reckless. She pulled her corset free as well, another layer dropped to the floor until fine muslin was all that protected her.
Her bold action was a farce. She blushed.
To her great satisfaction, he did too.
OR, Jon and Sansa marry to unify the North. Sansa makes it clear, she wants more from this marriage.

Well, nothing she can do until the Old Gods hear her desperate plea and send her back to Winterfell months before King Robert stepped foot in the North. Now all the “what ifs” she’s spent contemplating are possible and she’s promised the Old Gods she would do anything to save her family and the people of the North even if that meant staining her honor, allying with old enemies, or entering yet another unwanted marriage.
Or the one in which the Old Gods have zero tact and Sansa is determined to keep the game of thrones from ruining her family or the North.

“I could teach you,” he blurts out, and he has no idea where the words come from, or why he offers—Arya or Jon would be able to teach her easily and both are better fighters than he is now, but now his offer lies between them, and surprise flits across her face, her head tilting slightly to study him as she purses her lips in thought.
“Very well,” she murmurs finally, voice throaty and low, “I will meet you here at two hours before dawn the day after tomorrow,” she tells him with a tight little nod of her head that’s not quite a dismissal, but is an obvious close to the conversation.
He nods his agreement and waits till she’s brushed past him and the room has fallen dark to exhale heavily and wonder what in the seven hells he’s gotten himself into.
OR
Jaime and Sansa are plagued by nightmares of the horrors they've endured--both ache with a loneliness that they could never admit to, and in each other, find a balm for. What starts as swordplay turns into friendship, and ends in so much more than either of them could ever have hoped for.
