He slowly blinks open his eyes to two pairs of wide eyes. The girl’s are mixed with guilt but it’s Eddie’s eyes that have him flinching slightly. He catches the slightly murderous intent that is slowly fading away giving way to pure concern. Buck looks down to where Eddie’s hand is holding onto the girl’s wrist. Oh

Summary
Buck thought that a ladder truck falling on him and then him almost dying due to a blood clot was the worst thing that could ever happen to him. When he finds out that it's BOBBY that is keeping him from returning to his family, he decides that his only course of action to return to where he belongs is to file a lawsuit against the department.
Buck is miserable the entirety of the lawsuit, but he thinks at least it can't get worse than his entire pack hating him. Until he learns that he has cancer. And on top of that, he has to amputate his leg. And throughout everything, he has no one to turn to.

Buck’s not really sure what to say here, so he doesn’t say anything. For a minute they stand there in total silence, the TV muted, and looking at Eddie – the defeated slump of his shoulders, the hand over his mouth, the eyes staring blankly at nothing – it’s like those modern art installations one of Buck’s exes used to take him to: Man, with broken heart.
Man, eviscerated.
Buck’s no good with people being sad around him – it always feels like his responsibility, like if they aren’t smiling it’s his fault, and this time it really is his fault, at least partially, so he offers, “You can beat me up, if it would make you feel better.”

Even if it was his job and he had no way of knowing Buck was in the tree, it still felt like fate that Eddie was the one who rescued him.
“My, nigh’ in’ armour,” Buck slurs out. “‘Lways saven me.”
“I’d always save you, Buck,” Eddie whispers honestly, his hand coming up to cup the back of Buck’s neck and redirects his head so their eyes are meeting.
“Always.”

Summary
It’d be good for Buck to have another cat around him. If Bobby’s lucky, Eddie’s mellow temperament would rub off on his crazy orange menace and make him less of a terror.
Of course, that was delusional of him to hope so. If anything, the two were even worse together.
Buck pawing at people’s legs as a distraction while Eddie stole something off their plate. Buck dragging gloves or socks into Bobby’s office like trophies while Eddie followed behind to drop the stolen items into Bobby’s trash can. Napping in the most random places and therefore forcing everyone to check the engine every time just in case they were inside. Following people around and plopping down belly up at their feet like two meowing speed bumps. Knocking random stuff off the shelves.
Just last week, the two had stepped on the PA mic, Buck broadcasting a steady stream of purrs and random meows throughout the entire firehouse until Hen found Eddie serenely perched on the button.
Bobby somehow ended up adopting not one, but two demonic cats.

At first, it was simply a movement at the back pew. Nothing too odd, just a man standing as others sat, his head slightly bowed and eyes closed, typical of someone who was drawn to the worship but didn’t intend to stay.

“Got it,” he nodded, a white lie to sooth the other man’s worries.
A guttural, wet sound ripped from Eddie’s throat as the transformation began. His body began to shudder, muscles spasming and contorting under his skin. Clothes tore, skin thickened, and muscle surged. Bones cracked and re-knitted with audible, horrific pops. A pelt of rich, dark fur sprouted along his arms, his face elongating into a fearsome muzzle filled with sharp, gleaming teeth.
“Run!” The command was a roared, half-formed thing, the last vestige of his human mind.
This time, a sliver of pure, instinctual fear finally pierced Buck’s resolve. He stumbled backward, his blue eyes wide and his knees weak from the overwhelming feeling of prey. Teeth gritting, he turned and bolted into the thick pine forest, the sound of his own frantic heartbeat thundering in his ears. Behind him, the final, agonizing sounds of the transformation gave way to a deep, earth-shaking snarl.
The hunt was on.
An injured werewolf Eddie lost his mind under the full moon, teeth aching to hunt. Buck was the perfect prey.
