  3. Summary

This is a collection of Star Trek stories in which the antagonists are written in the style of Stephen King. The Star Trek characters and the universe itself are otherwise canonical.

Now you might be asking, “why Harold”? In the original script for Space Seed, the character we came to know as Khan Noonian-Singh was instead a Nordic man named “Harold Erickson.”

This fact, along with Stephen King’s prodigious oeuvre, inspired this alternate universe in which Kirk, Spock, Bones, and the rest of the Enterprise crew face off against shining vampires, a telepath named Harold, a traumatized telekinetic prom queen, and other unimaginable horrors.

The first story takes the place of the TOS episode Space Seed. The sequel includes The Wrath of Khan and The Search for Spock.

    Summary

“You said they’re pretty powerful telepaths. What do we know about their abilities?” Uhura asked.

“As stated, they primarily communicate through thought. Obviously, this means they do not require touch to sense a being’s thoughts and emotions as Vulcans do. They are empathic as well as telepathic, and have the ability to conjure visions. This trait has been seen to a moderate extent in extremely powerful Vulcan telepaths. It is believed that all Vestals possess it, however, and to a much greater degree.”

“Standard Vulcanoid physiology I assume?” McCoy asked.

    “Affirmative.”

“Great. So they’re three times our strength, politically volatile, and have no control over their apparently intense emotions. What could possibly go wrong?”

    Summary

He finds the notch right under Spock’s largest rib, where a pale scar sits. It’s almost as wide as Jim’s knuckle, a healed remainder from an old injury. Wordlessly, he leans forward and presses his lips to the white mark, lingering for a second.

Beneath him, he feels Spock shudder, untensing slightly. He’s beautiful - he’s always so goddamn beautiful.

“I’ve got some things I want to say to you.”

Post This Side of Paradise, Jim apologizes. It is soft, intimate, and physical in a sensual but not sexual way.
