    "Think of the impact, Bruce." Dick finally said, his voice barely above a whisper, as if afraid to disturb the sanctity of the concept. "The lives you'll change."

    "Or the chaos I'll create." Bruce countered, his dark eyes reflecting a storm of emotions. The corners of his lips twitched, an inscrutable expression that danced between cynicism and hope.

    "Chaos can be good." Dick argued softly. "It's the birthplace of stars, after all."

    Bruce paused, considering this. The tapping ceased, and for a moment, the only sound was the distant hum of Gotham, pulsing like a living thing just beyond their reach.

    "Stars." He echoed thoughtfully, the ghost of a smile appearing fleetingly. "Alright then, let's bring some stars to Gotham."

    El is kidnapped by Keller. He wants something impossible or he hands over El to the mob families. Keller chose something impossible just to see Peter and Neal’s despair. Keller will market El to the mob anyway. Therefore Jason!Neal “cashes in a favor” from the Malones to go to that meeting and get El back. Dick just hijacks the whole thing but Robbie Malone ‘buys’ El and then ransoms El for time with Neal. The others think it’s either a non-con situation or get him to forge something.

    Peter Burke thought he was prepared for anything when he agreed to take Neal Caffrey on as his CI. Even the man turning out to be from Gotham wasn't a big problem; Peter was too, after all. However, the man's increasingly ridiculous explanations ending with "well, it's a Gotham thing" might... but, hey, at least Peter gets to use the same excuse now. If only Neal's excuses actually made sense— sure, Gothamites learn to fight young, but not long enough to take out a whole warehouse NEAL.

    OR

    Neal huffs. "I'm telling the truth Peter. I don't know what else to tell you."

    Peter snorts, and pulls up to June's house. "Maybe you should've chosen a handler who couldn't call you out on Gothamite bullshit."

    Neal opens the door. "Maybe that's exactly why I chose you."

    It's a normal fight until Dick gets hit with blue light and wakes up to Bruce firing him from Robin. What chaos can he cause with this (a lot. The answer is a lot.)

    "Master Richard?" Dick took a relieved breath, at least Alfred should be able to walk him through the situation before his siblings found out, and blinked slowly before looking over at Alfred.

    And blinked again.

    And again.

    Alfred still had hair.

    This was bad. This was really bad.
