As Alastor reached the bottom, he realized that his invitation included a postscript.
“Didn’t hear from you, but I guess you’ve been held up. It's not quite a dinner date, but maybe you’ll spare an old pal some of your time - V.”
The sentimental man had even doodled a small squiggle of a heart on the bottom, similar to the little electrical arcs Alastor sometimes elicited between his antenna. Alastor flushed and tossed it into a void in space, feeling utterly ridiculous as he tried to needlessly smooth the front of his suit.

Lucifer rubbed the back of his neck in chagrin, “It's just been a long time since I've had-" well, anything, "multiple partners at once-" he dodged the admission quickly. He wasn't used to being so thoroughly caught on the back foot, but that had been a reality of his for the past few months of dealing with this particular sinner it seemed…
"I can top or bottom, whatever works out best for- Uh, well, I've never really had a preference- but it does seem kind of wasteful to not..." he felt suddenly self-conscious, admitting this particular detail to someone he would readily throttle on a good day, and the relative stranger who was also the head of the company that made money smack talking on a hell-wide scale. What the hell was he even doing...
Just as he felt himself starting to retreat inward, Alastor stepped forward and grabbed his chin, pulling him up to look him in the eyes.
"Tell me what you wish of me, my king," he growled, in just a dangerous enough tone that Lucifer's toes would have curled if he had them.In which Lucifer acquired more than just dance partners.

Alastor had been grappling with strange, unwelcome feelings toward Vox—feelings that twisted tighter every time the blue demon so much as brushed against him. Alastor tried to dismiss it as irritation, a byproduct of proximity and pride.
But denial had its limits.
The tension had been building too long, humming beneath the surface like a wire stretched too thin. At last, Alastor decided to stop running from it. He was going to do something about it.
