Summary
My retelling of season 9's Nothing Important Happened Today I and II, part of my retelling of seasons 8 and 9 from Doggett and Reyes' perspectives.
I know it says part 8. That's because I created a version of this that is all chapters and all parts in one fic. It's already longer than my longest individual fics. Easier for me work wise to keep things in sections, so my apologies, and thanks for sticking with it. I wish Ao3 would let you reorder parts in a series like we can reorder chapters. Oh well.

Summary
There’s no time to give a primer on the works of Monica Reyes; Scully is going to have her own interpretation, and it’s gonna imply Monica is the villain.
Oh well. Monica very rarely has the luxury of being understood when she’s working. This is no different.
She holds herself with the same confidence as the warden. When she raises her hands, she holds them up not in surrender, but up and out, as if making an offering to the sky.
The warden’s hands come up and out, a mirror of hers.
“This child will be born,” she tells the warden.
The warden nods. “This… child will be born,” she repeats, eyes shining and hopeful.
Monica nods. Good: they’re malleable, within certain parameters.

Missing scenes from the Season 8 finale, part of my retelling of S8 and 9 from Doggett and Reyes' perspective, "Seasons", as canon compliant as possible. I had to invent a lot. Of all the things I have invented this is my favourite.
This section also kinda works as a standalone. Here's the stuff CC and co yadda yadda'd so he could cram in more of his old standbys.
*cocks shotgun* Hop in cringe-lords, we're redeeming the whale scene! Woo!

Summary
The Queen is dead. Long live Pale Blue Monica, Student, stardust, om, amen, learning to let go of herself under the tutelage of her jailers.
Assistant Director John Doggett has vowed not to return until she is free, and in the meantime he writes down everything he can remember, like how it all fell apart when Mulder got better...
---
Continuation of the Seasons series, a mostly canon-compliant attempt to show S8 and 9 from Doggett and Reyes' point of view. I had to invent a lot.
Case in point: Empedocles.
This is an important episode in the lives of these characters, one I didn't truly understand without the benefit of hindsight (from info we learn in S9) and, until, like, literally two days ago, when I put 2 and 2 together. I rewrote this section entirely.
I don't want to spoil too much. I hope my additions helped impart how monumental this case was to both Doggett and Reyes.

TINH gets its own chapter, as will major episodes like Empedocles etc that are a little longer.
You'll want to read at least Seasons 3: Year One before this, it covers S8 until TINH. Ideally read the second one as well so you're not taken aback by their... whole deal.

Summary
His father has never been a real person. He’s only always a whispered name, a fading photograph; everything Will knows about him is mediated through someone else.

Summary
He’s on the side of the interstate in the warm woven center of night, and Scully is not in his passenger seat. He’s thinking about a research paper he wrote as an undergraduate about suicide methods.
a small weird cancer arc thing about the space between elegy and demons, because it haunts me that those episodes are back to back. lobotomies, psychotic breaks, Vonnegut, best friends. and berries

"Do you ever worry about the end of the world, Scully?"
"Yes," she said. "But I don't think it's going to happen fast."
She would remember that, later.
