Summary
It is February 7th 2078 and V’s still alive. A miracle has kept her breathing, while also transferring Johnny’s consciousness into a genetic clone unearthed at Mikoshi. Things should be good—she’s severed an arm of the Kraken and is wealthier than she’s ever been. So why was it that she felt like she was missing something, like she had to search the world for it?
But, the night before she makes plans to disappear from Night City falters when Johnny shows up on her doorstep to ask her for a favor—help him rescue Rogue’s son. Thus, a week of trouble ensues as former partners are thrown together again to find the fixer’s precious son. One last ride, right?
While V struggles with the intensity of her feelings for Johnny, ones she believes aren’t reciprocated, the Rockerboy is confronted by the terror that he may lose the one he loves. Again.

Summary
A year ago V ran away from her feelings, realizing how hopelessly in love with Johnny she was, knowing he'd never love her back in the same way. Retreating back in to Nomad life, living among the Aldecaldos, V learns some vital information about a man she promised to kill if she ever found him. Unable to trust anyone else to help her with the task, V drags Johnny along for the ride, one last gig for them both. When it was over, the plan is to part ways for good. Though, things with V rarely go according plan.

Summary
Posters on the wall said that Johnny and Kerry were performing as a double ticket, the date given being March 30th, 2013. This placed her right before Alt’s death, his downward spiral already underway. Issues with Kerry, lost glory days of Samurai, drug abuse, and not to mention he and Alt were on the rocks so bad they’d be done in about fifteen days and she’d be dead right after they ended it. Johnny told her once that this was the nightmare he had that plagued him, the one that made him sweat, never forgetting a single detail. Including the month leading up to it. Fuck. Of course they landed right in the middle of this, why wouldn’t they? Couldn’t have been back in 2004 when he was living his best life. Nope. Had to be now.
