An archaeological dig in Giza in 1876 covers a giant stone ring covered in a strange new form of hieroglyphics. While indecipherable at first, an accidental discovery reveals the true purpose of the Stargate.
How will Victorian-era Britain react to the discovery of whole planets to raise the Union Jack over and enemies more fantastical and terrifying than anything they could imagine?
There will be some slight divergence from canon, but the broad strokes laid down by the TV series remain the same.

Summary
Raised to hide her ability to hear dragons, Serana, the daughter of a small Holder in Lemos, knows nothing of Pern but the little corner of it that she's been raised in. So when her abusive Holder sire decides to marry her off to another Holder, she completely turns her life upside down by choosing to run away and become holdless in the hopes that she'll be able to get to a Crafthall before she's caught and returned to her father or her husband-to-be.
When disguising herself as a young man, she finds that she's far more comfortable as 'Jamim' than she ever was as herself, and is eventually able to integrate herself into a traveling caravan under this new persona.
But even the best kept secrets get out, and Lady Holdless Thella is after anyone who can hear dragons to help aid in her own selfish plans.
