Summary
Five wanders off from his siblings, completely alone, stranded in an alien new timeline. He sleeps rough, bumbles his way through life powerless, and does pretty much nothing with himself for about a year. Completely hopeless and meaning lost to his life, Five has given up, tired from all the apocalypses. But, as he starts noticing stranger and stranger things happening, multiple attacks on his life, and a Hargreeves-dominated world, it may be time to start investigating.
Unfortunately, that means trying to work together with his dysfunctional group of siblings that he calls a family. And they're scattered across god knows where.
A season 4 fix-it fic that picks up immediately where season 3 ends.

A wave of white fury surges through his veins like hot wax. The hand gripping his steak knife under the table tightens.
In a split-second moment, Five explodes in portal blue behind the speaker, snarling. He whips the knife across his throat quicker than anyone could blink or move, and blood bursts hot and thick onto Five's arms.
Silence before commotion erupts.
In which Five never runs away to the apocalypse, and grows up with his siblings instead. The thing is, he and siblings or Dad don't really... get on.

“Hey, Five-y,” Klaus sings, his face the literal picture of satanic evil and the literal Bane of Five’s Existence, morphed into a wide grin. Eyes wide and innocent. He points to an even weirder looking fruit. “You know what this one is?”
“Yes,” Five lies.
Klaus takes Five to the supermarket, and realises that Five does not, in fact, know much about the real world. Or fruits, to be specific. Basically just Klaus having a good time laughing at Five and Five being Extremely Pissed.
