And then Valjean breaks into his apartment to give him a painting. And then he continues breaking into his apartment to leave post-it notes on his refrigerator and gifts on his coffee table that Javert throws away at the first opportunity. And then Javert doesn't know what to think.
Javert hates his life and he hates art, but most of all he hates Valjean.
