His mind steadfast as he told himself over and over that Spock would never want him, much less love him. But here he was, looking at their conversation in a new light.

Shane and Ilya broke up. It was the adult, mature decision they made together and moved on from. Except Shane is still Ilya's emergency contact and Ilya's coach just called.
Ilya had a seizure. Well, seizures. Multiple. He is in the hospital, in the operation block and suddenly Shane is met with the possibility that last words Ilya Rozanov ever heard from him were "Maybe love isn't enough."
And then complications occur. And Ilya is not waking up.

They’d sat on a perfectly ordinary Wednesday afternoon in their perfectly ordinary kitchen, with coffee that had gone cold on the table between them, and calmly dismantled the life they’d built together. One sentence at a time.
“Maybe we need space.” “Maybe we’re just hurting each other.” “Maybe love isn’t enough.”
He wants to go back and shove that version of himself against the wall. Shake him until his teeth rattle.
Love is the only thing that matters when someone is under general anaesthesia and a stranger is touching their brain, Shane thinks wildly. Love is literally the only currency worth anything in a room like this.

“Too fast,” Ilya says. “My English… not good.”
“Sorry,” Shane mumbles into Ilya’s hand. Ilya grins and shakes his head, curls dancing, as he pulls his hand away.
“Is okay. Slow words. Okay?”
This year marks thirteen year Shane Hollander's third summer at Coach Marakov's elite hockey training camp. In attendance for the first time: Ilya Rozanov, visiting from Russia. Shane isn't the most sociable, and Ilya's English isn't the greatest, yet the unlikely duo soon become the best of friends.
It's just one summer, but it makes a world of difference.

Shen Qingqiu finds a sought-after artifact in a mission, one he cannot figure its use out — that is, until the Qing Jing Peak Lord finds himself in a cat’s body. Not knowing how to turn back to his human form and abhorring the thought of any of his martial brothers seeing him this way, Shen Qingqiu runs to the bamboo groves in hopes of figuring it out by himself, only to be found by one of his disciples, Shen Yuan, who has no clue the fluffy white cat in front of him is his dreaded Shizun.
Why Shen Yuan would vent about his life to a cat is beyond Shen Qingqiu’s understanding. Why Shen Qingqiu would keep coming back to listen is also beyond his understanding.
