He attempted to sit up, attempting to push himself off the couch, but he was met with a very firm hand, shoving him back down on the couch. The wind was nearly knocked out of his lungs as the hand remained on his chest, forcing him to keep his torso glued to the couch.
“Down.” It was a command that came from the diaphragm. “Stay.”
Very quickly, Rody stilled. Still panting and wide-eyed, his eyes adjusted to the darkness and searched the figure’s features for anything familiar and recognizable. His front-door was open, the hallway light illuminating the back of the figure, casting a shadow across his front. And, as his eyes adjusted, he could only stare in shock when he realized that the figure holding him down was none other than Vince.
“Vince…?”

Garmadon had insisted that it was purely out of goodwill, that he was just teaching him a lesson as parents would but, when it started to get more physical than the usual stern reprimanding; the fear started to kick in and eventually, he was walking on eggshells around his temperamental father and hiding the abuse from his friends and by extension, his other 'family.'

Ninjago City, an island city and one of the last remaining places in the Endless Seas that wasn't conquered by Lord Garmadon. The reason? A group of six vigilante ninjas, coloured by element and bent on keeping the city safe. In small fics sorted into the 5+1 style, it explorers daily life in ways of normal things and the one outlier. Family, friends, morals, bonding, history and lore are added to the universe, making it much deeper and discovering new parts to the world.
tldr: tlnm but none of them know each others identities, its more angsty, adds back lore from the show, and dives more into small things
*from the author, i highly suggest that you read the oneshots in the series rather than reading this first. everything flows much smoother if you read it in the order that i wrote it in.*

Luckily, it seems destiny has finally given Lloyd some well-deserved peace, and Garmadon is somewhat back to his old self and can help Lloyd through the learning curve that comes with being more than human.

Lloyd didn’t reply: He knew he did something wrong, and he was only delaying the inevitable. He rubbed at the hidden bandages above his wrists with his thumbs through the fabric of his hoodie. He hated how the counselor’s stare could pierce through Lloyd’s very soul; it could pull and pick apart at every fault and imperfection that scarred his body, inspecting it as a scientist would with their experiment. He might as well have been reading his mind.
The man sighed, picking up a clipboard and a pen. “So, your mother—” Lloyd’s head snapped up at the mention of his mom, “—emailed me this morning about you. According to her, you returned home at around two AM last night, and she saw you with bandaged cuts and a bruise the following morning.” The counselor pointed his pen towards the teenager’s bruised jaw. “She’s informed me that it’s been going on and off for about two weeks, so she wanted me to check in on you and whatnot. Is there a reason as to why you’ve been sneaking out?”
or: lloyd gets an unexpected visit to the counselor's office. it doesn't turn out as he expects it to be.

EDIT: (13/4/2025) Just to clarify, if the non backdated date is showing up for the last chapter, this fic was actually completed in June 2024. It started on February of the same year and I was fairly new to writing fanfictions. While there shouldn't be anything wrong with the grammar here, keep in mind that this was written by a fifteen year old who was dealing with exams at the same time. So it's not the best, lol. There will be a rewrite, but I'm not sure when I'll start writing it.
