These are the facts of the situation:
First, the stands at the Greyhounds’ training facility are particularly slippery after rain.
Second, Trent is not as coordinated as he would like to believe.
If he had known that Colin’s heroic rescue would result in this spiraling storm of whispers, Trent would have asked the universe to let him fall. Sure, it would have come with a loss of pride and respect, perhaps would have eradicated the last shreds of his dignity, maybe would have even resulted in a trip to the A&E if he hit his head, but –
It has to be better than this.
Trent wonders idly if he did hit his head and this is all a very bizarre dream.
Or: AFC Richmond think that Colin and Trent are in a secret relationship and are trying very hard to be supportive. Colin and Trent just want to be free from this nightmare of miscommunication.

Colin shrugs. All his life has been so intensely focused on his football career; he’s barely spent time thinking about what comes after.
“Rest a bit. Move back to Wales. Spend time with my family. Be with you, without all the complicated…” Colin’s voice trails off while he vaguely gestures in the air, “You know. Go on vacation, I don’t know.”
“That sounds nice.”
“What about you, would you ever move out of London?” For a second, Michael tenses against Colin. He shrugs. Colin adds: “Would you want to move to Wales with me?”
He does not answer Colin’s question, really, but says: “Wales sounds nice.”---

Eddie hadn’t thought he was that obvious.
And look, he knows it was stupid, flirting with the straight boy, but it was the end of the world and he was fairly sure he would’t get punched. So sue him if he wanted to enjoy making Steve “The Hair” Harrington squirm a bit before they all inevitably copped it. Steve had just looked baffled every time which wasn’t quite what Eddie was after. Then he’d started looking intrigued which was more like it but was maybe mostly wishful thinking. The Winnebago was not that big and they’d all heard Steve’s frankly embarrassing declarations in Nancy’s general direction but she was inside now, curled up with Jonathan and looking conflicted, and Steve was here with Eddie.
