Tintin, for some reason or another, ended up in a relationship with Sakharine, who came back after an attempted defeat after trying to get his hands on the scrolls to the legendary Unicorn ship. It was addicting, unfortunately, especially as a touch-starved traumatised trans man, to have such intoxicating attention from a terrible rich older man, but after almost 4 years, he decides to protect himself, Snowy and the captain by travelling to a different location under a different name with a different appearance and a different career entirely.
He is at least intelligent enough to know Sakharine can't hurt either him or the captain if they're separated, because he gets no joy out of hurting only one of the pair who tried to destroy him and his legacy with the other absent. Besides, he's possessive of the young reporter, and will hunt him down by any means necessary for the additional crime, in his eyes, of disappearing out of survival after another rendezvous one early summer evening.
