Dooley was standing on the other side of his desk and leaning on the pile of papers, his arms catching the light in a way that even with years of practice McQueen was finding hard to ignore. McQueen looked at him, searching for the words to ask what Dooley was doing and trying to swallow the ones that wanted to ask if Dooley understood what he was doing to McQueen, his heart pounding in his ears.
McQueen's hands felt glued to the desk, inches from where Dooley was leaning. He wanted so much. He wanted to lean over this desk and kiss Dooley the way he'd never admit to thinking about. He wanted Dooley to take his face in his hands and take his breath away. He wanted to wake up from what was surely a dream, so that he wasn't left feeling the ghost of Dooley's lips on his mouth when he sat up on bed.

One moment, McQueen was watching dramatic explosions on the staticky TV. What seemed like the very next second, sunshine was streaming through the window and Patricia was shaking him awake.
“Rise and shine, sleepyheads,” she chirped, not sounding the slightest bit surprised to find McQueen in her house. “I did you a favor and put breakfast on the table, otherwise you crazy kids are going to be late for work!”
“Thanks, Pat!” Dooley said with a bright grin. Then he turned to McQueen. “Uh, Detective, can you give me a ride to work?”
McQueen rolled his eyes. “I drive you to work every day, Dooley.”

“Hey, loser! McQueen!”
McQueen stops in his tracks, his head whipping up to see none other than his mortal enemy, McKing, strutting across the sand to approach them. McKing was much more suited to spending a day at the beach, dressed in swimming trunks which showed off a tanned and toned chest.
“Look at those cuffed pants,” McKing says, giving his outfit a once-over. “Makes you look kinda fruity.”
That wasn’t very nice.
“Like a pear, I’d say,” McKing continues.
Sort of better, maybe.
“Also, you look gay,” McKing says.“So… what do you think the items we’ve collected so far today are for? We’ve got the furry handcuffs and a thong,” McQueen says.
“Hmmm,” Dooley says. “I’m thinking that they might be for a TikTok.” -
